  1. I've had some friends that ran both pre and post pyrometers. The post is not worth much being it can be 500*F colder or more. Best to be pre turbo like @TFaoro said above.
  2. Time to post March fuel logs again. I covered more ground this last month. Now take notice I was getting a nice gain till March 11 then went down hill. This is the point at which I pulled the +50HP injectors and install the stock injectors. March 27 was my trip down to Parma, ID with the RV. Nearly 15 MPG towing 8,000 pound, 31 foot RV. Not too shabby. Best was 18.5 MPG on stock injectors pretty weak in my book. I'm not going to bother post March's OBDLink logs bein they are train wreck since I never bother to re-calibrate for the stock injectors. So now that I install the 7x0.0085 SAC Injectors we'll see where this goes now. I will mention there is clues of injector issues coming. Idle speeds will be higher than normal. Like the end of the +50HP they were idling almost 900 RPM's at times. Typically floated around 870 RPM's. Then the random miss fire at idle on hot engine. Light blue haze on morning start ups. All clues the injectors where going. Even my Stock injectors are idling lower as well like 820-830 RPM's. Not to hijack my MPG thread but injector performance is key to how the MPG's are going to be. I'll post my tune as soon as I get this all sorted out...
  3. No. I did trip into town test the tune I created and go play with my new injectors. Funny part is I've now got just a small hint of loppy idle now when the A/C cycles in it might lope for a few revolutions then quit. Power is quite impressive. I'm going to be working on my tune to filter out the smoke and bring the MPG's up. As for the previous post about studs I'm not worry about it because now that I've cut my wiretap back quite a bit to clean up smoke the boot is stopping right about 40 PSI. My priority right now is the MPG's to cut my travel expense so drag racing or high boost runs are going to be rather rare.
  4. Basically wide use of timing is now allowed. 19-20* is really smooth and quiet now. Economy tune I've started from 90% and worked up from there. Performance tune is starting from 100% and up from there. Wiretap had to be reduced quite a bit to control upper end smoke. Still trying to weed out some of the smoke yet. Boost wise old tune and the new injectors it would bounce a easy 45 PSI. EGT's are still bit hot and going to weed some of that out too. I'm not going to post it quite yet till I get it cleaned up more.
  5. Ok if you unplugged the APPS sensor and still idling high I have to say there is a ECM issue then. Do you have a friend or someone you can trade ECM's with by chance? Something about the ECM thinking the RPM is too low and it feeding excessive idle throttle. Another idle is do the Blue Chip hot wire test and see if the VP44 will idle normally without the ECM attached if so this proves the ECM is the problem. If it's still idling high then it would be VP44 issue.
  6. Here you go... Stock on top and the new +75HP Sac on the bottom. See the difference between stock VCO's and the +75HP SAC's All peeled apart and ready for new injectors... Now just using my current tune they are very smoky using my old tuning. Now I'm going to sit down and create new tunes for both performance and economy sides on the Quadzilla so this will clean up the smoke and bring the EGT heat down too.
  7. Did you mess with the APPS sensor doing any kind of voltage adjustments? If you have, you are going to have to re-do it and make sure the voltage is below the tag voltage.
  8. Finally, the injectors came on Thursday. I waited till Saturday to come home so I've got the weekend to install the new injectors. Very clean looking injectors, fresh copper washers already supplied. I was kind of shocked though, as posted on DAP page... https://dieselautopower.com/diesel-auto-power-75hp-performance-injectors-7x0-0085-sac-vp7x85sac75/ The injector connector tube removal tool was missing and o-rings for the connector tubes was missing. What you see in the photo is all I got. Kind of disappointed to find out that the crossover tube o-rings and the tool were not in the package. So I really do hope these babies are clean running... We'll find out very soon as of tomorrow.
  9. Might read over these articles to see if you might of missed something...
  10. All pulleys are straight. The belt is ride straight on all pulleys. Bearings are all smooth, fan, water pump, alternator, tensioner pulley, and A/C pulley. New compressor.
  11. When you installed the injectors did you tight the hold down caps first of the crossover tubes first? You are suppose to snug the crossovers first to ensure a good seal of the crossover tubes before tightening and locking the injector in place. ECM idle software is controlled by coolant temperature so when you say hot or cold. What is the hot temperature? The colder the coolant temperature the higher the idle will be.
  12. Exactly! Are you OK?
  13. All codes can be cleared or erased. This just mean that you cant erase the code because the code is real. So I would suggest going and reading up on the P0237 code in the ODB listing on the site.
  14. Another thing learned for Mopar1973Man high idle and Quadzilla owners. Make sure you select OFF or MPG mode before rolling. If your using warm-up mode on Quadzilla it will lock to stock timing till the coolant temperature rises above the set point on the Quadzilla. It would be good reason to hook up the power leads and still the extra hole for the LED to shine through.
  15. Another rare thing is the brake hoses coming part internally and creating a one way valve which will make the brakes hang up. Excessive debris in the system can hang up calipers causing the pistons to stick. Hydrobooster is possible from old fluid and debris causing it to hang in apply mode slightly. All are caused from lack of fluid changes on powering fluid and brake fluid.

  17. Sorry it was back burner for headlights. I'm focused on the MPG more so. I've been camped out in Parma, ID for the last week. Saving fuel this way. I've got to say Thank You to @MUDDY for letting camp his place. Injectors will be at the house today so this weekend I'll go home and deal with that. I could get my wire supplies today so I could finish them up as a crude install.
  18. You can upload the pics to the site.
  19. Don't feel back I know guys that I've talked to on the phone that admit to changing oil every 2,000 miles because they think black oil or sooty oil is bad on the engine.
  20. Ok.. I want to know what happens? Also @jlbayes what is the max boost I should limit to on the HX35/40?
  21. Sorry VP44 No longer has a diaphragm.
  22. Sorry I just don't see the price vs. Name working out.
  23. HX35/40 vs VGT? Seriously?
  24. 3 Things according to Jacob @dieselautopower... 1. SAC's typically have less issues than VCO's. 2. SAC's typically can flow more fuel. 3. Pintle modifications on these injectors have been measured to flow more like a +90HP injector. Now that being said @Me78569 is running 7x.010 injectors (+100 HP) and still reaching 24-25 MPG's completely smokeless tune on the Quadzilla. So I should be able to match him for the most part safely with the HX35/40 turbo (60/60/12) and the 7x0.0085 (+75HP SAC's). Being Me78569 can still flow more air with his VGT over my HX35/40 so being just a bit smaller on the injectors and turbo should be a close match to him.
  25. Heck any information about turbos would be a bonus for the site.
