  1. @IBMobile I just did the AC mod, is this the right wire I cut? I haven't started the truck yet, but tomorrow were going to Wisconsin dell's for a weekend and I may need it lol.
  2. Congrats, I just put a toggle switch for my ac on/off in one of previous holes right next to vent switch knob and mine is about ready to fall apart. Now if I got a new one I'm not sure where to put my toggle switch for ac maybe on top of the dash it reinforced with resin and mash
  3. Yeap, wife wanted to finish basement and I don't have time, so she had random people show up for estimate. I ended up being home for most of them and when they see my construction tools around the corner after they feed me some Bs, they give me this surprised look like oh shi. now he knows we were bullsh.ting him. One of them on the way out said well you know it's getting thought out there to find good quality and if I'm higher in a bid then someone else, let me know maybe we can work something out. Yeah they were all in high 30,40, and even low 50k range for about 20-25k basement that in material may be 8-10k with everything included. But they know that most don't know and do what they do best. It's like a disease, everyone trying to screw the other guy and hence the outcome. So far I spent about 700 and framing is almost done, along with few other things. And it's straight too, so hanging rock should be a breeze. Now just need to fit the tub in before I frame it all in.
  4. You have to keep in mind that Mike lives on the Dark Side of the Moon. And a lot of his advice comes from where he leaves and what he does with his truck ( which in a nutshell it's all great advice). Most of us that leave in cities or nearby and have a lot more availability of random junk, have more options. And what works for someone doesn't always apply to someone else. Like I got a used ECM from a guy that was parting out a truck, for $400 and while in his shop, I seen pcm, abs module with abs unit all still attached, he just cut brake lines off, and just random stuff laying around. I gave him 500 and took it all, wish I would of taking more but didn't want all that junk in my garage, and slim chances of me using it all. But basically I got abs module for free. So yeah it just depends on situation I guess. This is slightly off topic but goes with how we use our trucks, to each their own. I live in Quad Cities Now by Mississippi, and I swear 80% of drivers here are retarded, hardly anyone uses signal lights, people cut you off randomly, if you got a 6-speed like me sometimes people even hunk to get me out of the way because I'm just too slow for them and I'm already abusing my truck just to get going. Everyone in such a hurry to get to McDonald's or whatever they're going to, just so they can get there and then go sit and do nothing and stare at their phone like zombies. It's funny sitting at stop lights especially when I drive my car so I can hear what's going on around me, most of cars (new, very few older ones)shut off at stop lights, and when it turns green it's all you hear is vehicles starting back up and the race is on to the next stop light, it's rather sad really. They all got a new vehicle, fancy clothing etc, but no respect for one another, almost ready to kill each other with their eyes lol. I guess where I'm going with this is for me leaving in city driving truck around, I'll never see that kind of mileage out of my parts like @Mopar1973Man will, even if I completely copied his set up. Or if I tried, I'd be labeled a retard for not driving like all the retards here. You just can't win in this new mind set people have. I hope it's not like this everywhere, in fact I know it's not, smaller city's usually have nicer people, it's the bigger ones that suck, everyone is too important for everyone else. Of course there are good people here too, just the number is getting smaller. Sorry for my ramble, I haven't finished my coffee yet.
  5. This is what it says in description. " The kit fits right up to the factory cast iron elbow that comes of the turbo. " So it's meant to be used with a 3in outlet that hx/hy35 have. If you're not planning on upsizing the turbo this would work good.
  6. Funny you say that, I was always chasing your tail on injectors and then your hybrid turbo, but when I couldn't find parts to come close I decided to have one built and after installing it realized I need bigger injectors. That's how I got to where I'm at now.
  7. If i may add, I have a custom built turbo from http://www.northamericanturbo.com 62/67/12 and 7x10vco that I'm currently in love with, for a good price that allows me to use the exhaust brake that uses 5 bolt flange. Although I am limited to 3" exhaust outlet, so it can get a bit hotter when I'm on it. If exhaust brake is not a concern get the turbos mentioned above with 4" down pipe, imo it's a great set up. I don't use EB as much now and some day I may just sell my set up and get the 62/68/12. But at this point I got more then I need without braking stuff.
  8. Well at least the guy got a free transmission and Quadzilla out of the deal, he'll be changing hg soon along with other things.
  9. Strange they said sac is better for cleaner burn than vco. And I can't believe they couldn't tune most of that smoke out, but I guess second set of injectors they put in might be too big to tune out with hx35
  10. If I understand correctly idle is controlled by the ECM so I would check for codes and then ac noise (vac) from alternator, should be less then .05vac .03 is better and there is a ground mod that will cut it in half to about. 015vac. Very important on these trucks not to have ac noise and having all good grounds with batteries. If you're not doing anything crazy then rv275 is the way to go and most time there is no core charge on new injectors. You can probably go up to 60-75hp injectors on hx35 without issues but it would be better to have a tuner at this point. Qwadzila is the one for vp44 trucks hands down. The only time I would pay to check pop pressure and make sure they flow good is if it's something you want to keep, like I have 7x10 vco from dap set at 320 bar now, and pretty happy with the set up i got. So in 100k or when I feel nassasary I'll have these checked out and put them back in. If yours are original with more than 100k I would just send them in as a core, but sounds like they may be not original as they blow black smoke on start up. How high can you get boost, what turbo you got, any gauges on truck, tuners, etc?
  11. Thanks for the post, mine are acting up too, probably same problem. Funny I just changed blower motor and with few drops of oil got my old one to work good again. It was making a squeaky sound on low speed. For any one our there having same noise, it take 5 minutes to get motor out and add few drops of oil to it.
  12. May be cheaper to find a set of axles, for same year or newer AAM stuff. I would personally not spend 4k on regearing unless I did it myself for few hundred and axle. I would definitely get newer style axles that are beeffier and redo driveshafts, probably still cheaper. Jmo
  13. FYI, my resistor was junk and blower was trying to turn on low speed but couldn't, bearing/bushing was dry and therefore I'm guessing it fryed the resistor. So I put new motor and resistor in, but after few drops of oil in old blower it freed up and was also working on low speed. So I kept it as a spear.
  14. Try tuning some more fuel out with quad, where do you start your canbus at. Also vco injectors are cleaner and not as hot imo. I do hear what you're saying though, my truck ran coolest before I took hx35 off and went to bigger injectors. But I don't think the difference is huge in egt's for the amount of power gained. I would definitely make sure you have zero boost leaks. My truck cruising egt on flat ground are around 600-700 slow inclines it can easily sit at 900, longer steeper grades1000-1100 and if I'm trying to go faster up a grade it will go over 1200, I have my limiter set at1400 but it starts to D fuel just above 1300. Sulphur Towing I'll have to use a different tune that cuts more can bus.
  15. If you're planning on keeping your truck I would definitely get Quadzilla, you'll be much happier in the long run. Just like yesterday driving around I was trying to adjust my can bus so I don't blow smoke with my 7x10 vco ( I would recommend going with vco) so after few tries I was successfully not blowing any smoke and still have all the power when I mash the pedal. I now start at 76 for canbus to keep it clean, with a canned tuner you'll be stuck starting at 100. And there's so much more you can do with timing.
  16. Thanks, it is now on the list of to do. Appreciated your efforts.
  17. Thank you @IBMobile I just want a simple on/off for ac like my car has, I don't care at all how dodge made it. Just to clarify, this on/off switch for that green/white wire to make ground will turn compressor on/off and use all pressure switches like designed, right? I'm sorry I'm like @dripley electricly challenged when it comes to diagrams. It makes sense but want to be sure before I go cut things up. Blend door might just go on a choke cable
  18. Yeap, it never ends ether lol...
  19. I think you should be fine putting in elbow and fooler, I just don't think you'll gain a whole lot with stock injectors and no canbus/wiretap tuning. But I can't say for sure as I've never ran my truck that way. When I bought it it had 75hp injectors and the frozen shut wastegate, I guess that's kind of similar to what you going to do. I don't think you're going to hurt anything, as long as you stay at or below 30psi for now until you get your egts gauge. Make sure you don't drop below 14psi on fuel at wot. But yes with boost elbow you should be able increase boost past 20 and fooler should keep cel's from setting.
  20. @IBMobile Would it make sense to just have on or off, no factory stuff. That way you're able to turn ac on on any blend door position or have it off. Why even set it up to work like it was designed. I guess my question is will this mod work with simple on off toggle switch on that same wire, or does it have to be 3 way. Just want it simple and effective.
  21. I don't think you should mess with it, it worked for that long already. If hot fuel would damage vp it would of done it by now. That's just my opinion and as low you let your fuel level get, you'd think something would of happened, how many miles do you have on vp.
  22. So how do we do that, I was just looking under the hood now, good thing I'm not as fired up as I used to be on these things, I'd have it done already lol.
  23. Can you hand draw a picture for a dummy like me. I would appreciate it. Edit I think I'm understanding what we're doing here, I don't think that there is a need to cut any wires ether. Just pull pin 85 out of ac relay and extend the wire to the switch then run another wire back to relay and one to ground. Am I thinking correctly?
  24. Yeap that's what I meant I was close enough
