  1. No problem I have no idea haha, but I was just thinking when his truck runs it would be good idea to check for it. I suppose he can bench test it too. When gauges and electronics along with tc hunt do weird things, it makes me think there is a problem with ac noise. I suppose it could be in the ignition switch too. Why it crank or don't crank randomly , there could be multiple problems like wore out starter contacts, ac noise, ignition, pcm, @Jnhobson95 does your wait to start light come on every time and right away?
  2. Sounds like an alternator problem, check for excessive ac noise.
  3. If you truly can use it you already know what it is and who it's from if you can get it for a decent deal you can always sell it if you decide not to keep it
  4. Rope will be easy to damage if it's under tension and anything sharp touches it. What I've done before is use a 20-foot chain to begin with and then attach my winch to it, that way you're dragging chain on the ground, also not using as much of winch cable so you don't have to reel it in as far. But the more you let out more torque you have on your winch, which I'm sure you already knew that. I would also recommend getting at least a 20000 pound rating on rope for a 12000 pound winch
  5. Lol, I just got one on the 31st, thought that's when sale started, that's alright though you deserve a full price. .
  6. I know how you feel having monkeys do things to your tuck, maye you get lucky and they do it right. On the other hand friend of mine just had new fuel lines put on his car got bent over for $750 drove to Chicago about 4 hour drive for him and noticed his mileage sucked and when parked had fuel leaking on the ground. I just check price on new fuel lines $150 for a whole set, maybe an hour or two worth of work. He's but hurt at this moment. I told him it's more then likely quick connect fittings and he can probably do it himself, but after 750 you shouldn't have to.
  7. Mine are in the fender gap behind batteries, and yeah wire is not long enough to go on top of the radiator then, I pulled it between radiator and intercooler.
  8. Hey whatever works it's Iowa nothing special here... Edit: 3 measurements, gelled not gelled and looks like it's about to gell.
  9. It's -8f now and will be -22f tonight, I put treated fuel in glass jar with extra antigell and it's getting milky alredy siting on the deck. Edit: here is what it looks like now
  10. Not horrible but not great ether, ones on my truck are made in USA and have some what looks like dryrot, tiny small cracks everywhere in between tread and I have one crack about 1" or longer between tread too, looks like it just split all by itself. My dad has same tires on his suburban an no problem with them at all but his are made in Japan. Maybe I just got a bad batch I do like them for being aggressive and quite on hwy.
  11. ^^^^^ Yes, and we're all here because we're not all there, something like that I think I've said that before though lol can't remember passed 10 min ago, and other times I seem to remember details of something that happened 30 years ago , ok I'll just speak for myself Happy new year to all...

  13. That's crazy to think river would come up like that, but we had it happened too...
  14. I will be -18 tonight here, I was outside for a while and my nose wanted to freeze shut breathing hard after doing few things. definitely feels like winter now.
  15. Yes my plan is to get a rope as soon as my cable starts to poke me, I did it on a previous built and loved the rope. I got the 1/2" one something like 30,000lb rating, and ended up busting it when pulling a truck out of revine sideways, peeled his tires off the rims and when rims dug deep enough in to dirt my rear axle came off the ground about 2 feet, (I was butted up to a tree with front bumper, this was of road) and then the rope gave. This was on my monster truck with 2.5 ton military axles and 54" tires we had no other option as his truck was ready to roll over down the hill, would of been a lot worse. But yes I love the rope, it don't fly back at you through the windshield. Ask me how I know.
  16. Any updates on your new toy.
  17. So I've ruined a few of roller fairleeds for a winch, they use these plastic inserts that can only handle so much. I ended up figuring out size of bearings that can replace plastic. I just did this so I have no clue how it will hold up, but I'm hoping better than before. Here is what I've used if anyone wants to try. Bearings are 5/8 x 1 3/8 is just got some cheap China special bearings https://m.ebay.com/itm/-10-99502H-MOWER-SPINDLE-SEALED-BALL-BEARING-5-8-X-1-3-8-X-433-GO-KART-CART/302295734698?itemId=302295734698&fdback=1 Needs bit of minor modifications to make it work, hoping it will be much better than plastic crap. I put few talk welds to keep bearing from going too far but you can get bearings with retainer rings too so that they only go in so far. https://m.ebay.com/itm/10-499502H-NR-SNAP-RING-SEALED-BALL-BEARING-5-8-X-1-3-8-X-433-GO-KART-CART/292240544331?hash=item440ae4d24b:g:4CsAAOSwpiNZrfOv
  18. My guess is overloading, old batteries, bad connections, grounds, something along them lines.
  19. I Don't know for sure, but I would imagine it would be bigger as input shaft is bigger. How many bearings are there one or two, if two maybe one is same and one is bigger. Sorry I'm just mumbling.
  20. I didn't like the look of a big gap around eBay special housings, so I got a tube of black silicone from menards for 3 bucks and filled the gap. I figured it will come off easily enough if I wanted to pill it off. Looks much better imo.
