  1. Lotion with vitamin e or baby oil
  2. I know it sucks, there is always something. Like I just got this vw tdi now getting bugs worked out of it. They came with the famous cp4 pump that's a ticking time bomb so I put a cp3 in there now dealing with spikes in pressure, if I get on it hard it goes in limp mode. Got someone going to data log it for me soon and tweak the software. Then I'm excited to get over 50mpg that people claim to get Runs pretty hard for a little 4 banger 2.0
  3. Green coolant in big rig, scary. I don't want to start another debate on coolant use what works.
  4. You are crazy, man These trucks are full of surprises
  5. I like my vcos, although been experiencing little bit of rough idle and more smoke than usual, either the pop pressure settling or it's way too hot out.
  6. Maybe it does both, absorbs heat to engage and helps to cool when the fan is actually engaged and pulling air through.
  7. I always fought the fins were to absorb the heat, so the clutch can do its thing.
  8. That's a whole other can of worms that most of us know nothing about other than its expensive and has its own issues. Probably something to do with 5v Supply, on older ones it's sheared with other sensors, like oil pressure sensor could cause low voltage to apps. What codes do you have. What apps do you have, of its factory do yourself a favor and put in timbo, all mechanical and 3d the cost. Someone smarter than me may say something, sometimes it takes few days to get things cooking.
  9. I am not telling my truck I've read this, no way
  10. Feeling free I guess, even though I'm a slave to the system in one way or another. It's all how you look at it. We can have an endless thread on this subject.
  11. That's just wrong for some reason, idk. I've been fortunate enough not to deal with it I guess
  12. So these bronze bushings don't require any lubricant? I was always leary about them.
  13. songs like New Jersey is worse than California, I hope it's only these two states. I don't want any monkeys putting anything in my tank. What is happening to America anyway. So much for freedom, the whole world is going nuts.
  14. Get new boots also if you put soapy water on them and pressurize the system they will bubble. Most vendors carry different brands of boots I got the cheaper ones can't remember from who, blue in color rated for 50psi. I hit 50+ few times playing around.
  15. Debris from hose clamp perhaps You should be in the 400 Club by November
  16. No kidding man, mine just started to misfire at idle again, engine load is bouncing between 5 and 8, it set for few weeks while I was working on my new toy vw tdi, I bet it got jealous and did that to me So I beat the crap out of it to put it back in its place, seems better. It almost feels like one of the injectors is missing and they only got about 10 K on them. Really getting tired of pulling injectors, but who am I preaching to
  17. It better not happen anytime soon, I just got a new car with low miles and a loan and it burns diesel, that stuff better be available for at least next 20 years.
  18. Gremlins, looks just fine. Mine is same that's why I haven't changed anything yet. I've sliped new bushing over yoke when I had drive shaft out to re balance, because I thought maybe it was out of balance causing the leak. Btw my leak started after I removed drive shaft to do rear pinion seal, I did not change transfer case seal at that time, it was not leaking then. About a week later after the rear pinion seal and new u joints and driveshaft rebalance it started to drip. So I changed the seal in tcase, still dripped. Then I went and bought a bushing and another seal at the same time I took the driveshaft back to have it rebalanced just to be sure, it was with in spec but the guy took weights off and rebalanced it anyway. Still dripping today. That's my story. The only other thing I can think off, is when you slide drive shaft in, the lip of the seal may roll inwords we can't see it because of the protection boot. I had same thing happen on my Honda after changing timing belt I also changed all the seals, within a week I was dripping oil, took it all apart and started looking, at first glance looked fine because you can't really see oil seal behind dust seal. After I took it out it was obvious the lip rolled outward when I pushed it over crankshaft. So what I did is used pvc pipe same size 1/12 I believe, put seal on pvc then held it against crankshaft and slid it on, it had no way of rolling wrong. OK I'm done for now.
  19. Not a bad guess, may have to polish up that unused surface
  20. Would love to know the outcome, I've been debating if I want to change that bushing for few years now. Mine is just a drip though. I got my bushing from local tranny guy, it was just wrapped in paper no box, he probably gets them in a case or something. No part number, what's posted above seems to be the right one. I suppose you checked the vent and it's not over filled.
  21. That sounds like amsoil, which I suppose with quality oil and fine filtration should work fine. But I'm like you I'd rather change it every once in awhile to have a peace of mind. By the time you spent money on oil analysis you're almost there to change the oil. I suppose depends on driving conditions you could see what others get out of their oil life, and do half of that and you know you'll be safe then.
  22. Are you speaking of vw tdi? What model.
