Exaust 4 or 5 inch
This is what I used. The price has gone up a bit, but still under $50. http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Eye-4512AC-Exhaust-Tail/dp/B009OLSJCC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

I went with the 4" diamond eye as well. I don't have a muffler, but I installed the FTE resonator and I like the sound. I also noticed a slight decrease in EGT when towing. I would recommend that.

Dropping out of lock up I think
Were you able to get your problem figured out?

What happens if you don't do an apps reset?
OL is overload. The volts that you are measuring are too high for the range you have set. You shouldn't have to measure in mV mode. Set it to measure in 0.000 V. That DVM will work just fine.

As a kid I used to roll up a tin foil gum wrapper and shove it in the fuze block . I never had to buy spare fuzes after that.

Front Crank Seal Help .... and show and tell of what the dealer did
If everyone did it themselves wouldn't that put you out of a job? I'd much rather do my own work as well, but I don't have the skills that most on this site posses. But I always look forward to doing something new. I have met many people over the years that can't wrap their heads around doing mechanical work, yet they are some of the smartest people I know. Rather than throwing all vehicle mechanics in the same group, it would be better to do some research and understand who is honest and experienced vs those that aren't. Their are some on this site that make their money fixing other people's cars. I'm sure even as good as they are, they have made mistakes and misdiagnosed problems. I think how these issues are resolved is where good vs bad really shines.

need help on engine dying
Is your FP gauge in the cab and can you monitor it while driving? I know you said you have 15 psi at the VP44, but when the truck is cutting in and out can you see what your pressure is doing? What is the condition of your fuel filter?

Sudden loss of all power
I'm not familiar with that filter so I don't know if that is the correct fuel filter. Your fuel filter housing, if it is stock, is on the driver's side near the back of the motor. Your lift pump may be just to the side of that, unless your LP is in the tank. When you bump the starter you should hear a buzzing for about 25 seconds. That is your lift pump. You need to verify that you are getting fuel from the pump. You can crack the fuel lines at the injectors to verify that you are getting fuel up there. If you are worried about your IP, you can do the hot wire test. That is pretty easy but you will need some test leads. Without tools you aren't going to get very far. Once you get all of this sorted out you ought to consider a FP gauge inside the cab. You'll get it figured out.

Check for codes. Did the check engine light come on? Even if it didn't you may have codes. I have an OBDLink as well and you should be able to pull codes with that. Can you hear your LP running when you bump the starter. Your VP44 may have went but you can start with the simple stuff first. You need to check fuel pressure coming from the lift pump. How is your fuel filter? Where are you located?

Is it worth adding 2-cycle oil to a P7100 truck?
2 stroke will help a VP44 system and the ratio to add is 1 fl oz to 1 gallon of diesel. But like Me said, 2 cycle oil won't fix your problem. You need to determine if your lift pump is working and if it is getting fuel to the IP. How is your filter? When was it last changed? A dirty filter can cause a lot of problems. It is best to figure out what is going on before you damage you IP, that is when it gets more expensive. Determining fuel pressure from the lift pump will be the first place to start. Maybe start a new thread with Somethingnuw's question so it doesn't' get lost and he gets help?

how hard would it be to replace that cushion? I wonder if you would have to replace the cloth, mine doesn't have any holes in it, but the cushion is worn out.

Notes from the wilderness!!!
Our egg production has shot through the roof the last couple of weeks. We are now getting 25-26 eggs a day. A month ago we were getting 6-9. I've had that talk with the chickens. I've put automatic lights in my coop to try keep them laying over the winter, but I don't think that it did a whole lot.

Testing Alternator for noise
There has got to be an option to switch between AC and DC. I have one at home that switches by me hitting a button.

Engine Vibration
a harmonic balancer would be easy to visually look at and see if the rubber is deteriorated at all. Can you see movement at the motor mounts when the engine is running?

Notes from the wilderness!!!
Here are a few update pictures. Our geese are laying lots of eggs, but they have yet to get broody and sit on the eggs. We have given many of the fertile eggs away to people that want to incubate them for home or classroom activities. Also, we picked up 4 piglets the other day. The kids will raise these to show at the county fair in August.

loud bang
Did you ever find out what that bang was? I had some odd thumps going on this weekend. It was coming from the rear and it wasn't consistent. I realized that my Rock Tamer mud flaps would sway and hit the rear bumper. I'm glad that is what it was. I adjusted them and the are good to go now.

Flipped axles
We did this to an axle a many years ago and it really wasn't that hard to do. I had a friend that had done several so he was to one barking orders and I was just doing what I was told. I think the only thing that I had to buy was new U bolts. They had a home made tool that verified everything was straight and it pulled just fine after we did that. I bet there are a few YouTube video floating around.
