  1. You could wire it up now and add lights later. I just got a pair of lights front tractor supply for 20-30 bucks and strapped them to the axles. It's in mikes write up and in my 'new truck' thread. Just splice into the reverse light wire and then run a relay if you want a switch to be able to control on and off with a switch.
  2. Might as well throw some reverse lights in there while you're foolin around with all that wiring!
  3. OK here's screen shots from different types switch positions Truck had been running already for a littless Here's it in what I thought was OFF Here's it in what I thought was 6cyl Here's it in what I thought was 3cyl Here's it in what I thought was MPGS mode What do you guys think?
  4. I'm sure you could redo it @leathermaneod but if it's holding pressure and not leaking I wouldn't. We're definitely talking about the same stuff! I have a big 50ml bottle of it and I only got it at the recommendation of Eric.
  5. Eric definitely uses it, I've chatted with him about this several times. Fass recommends against using a liquid thread sealant and to use the thread tape. I prefer the liquid type and since Eric gave it such a huge endorsement I got some as well. My local fastenal had it on stock.
  6. Yea I'd imagine for twins or a different turbo.
  7. Oops! You're right! I read the description wrong and sometimes Vulcan's pics aren't always right. My bad!
  8. Not sure what truck its for but looks like you'd have an HX35 regardless so here ya go http://www.vulcanperformance.com/Bottom-Oil-Supply-Line-p/bol1.htm http://www.vulcanperformance.com/Oil-Drain-Gasket-Dodge-Cummins-94-07-HX35-H1C-HX-p/odghx.htm
  9. I'd have to check the fluid. I don't use 4wd often enough to worry too much about it, but with winter around the corner, the TC and front diff fluid will get changed just to be on the safe side. When I was using 4L I was coming up out of a pretty decent ditch with my utility trailer hooked up. It went into 4L in the dirt no problem. It was trying to get it back into 2H on the pavement where I had issues so maybe the traction bit was the issue.
  10. I try and do it as close to what the owners manual says. Slow to a creep (2-3mph) then neutral, then 4L. Most the time it's no issue going into 4L but going back to 2H it'll grind a little.
  11. Tyler?!? .... Auto?!? It can't be!
  12. I still haven't figured out the trick on my truck to get into 4L without grinding gears at least once!
  13. Awesome! I want to go a manual swap!
  14. Ooo boy, that's a tough pill to swallow! Sorry man! Hope they have good news for ya!
  15. Haha That may change in the somewhat near future. An SUV or min-van could be in my future family fleet!
  16. I hear ya! I'm lucky because the wife drives a 2014 GMC Sierra so any time we need to do 'city' or 'commuting' stuff we take her rig. Leaves my truck for towing and fun! My commute is 10 minutes tops and I miss driving a manual! It all started with a 5speed Volkswagen caddy diesel!
  17. I meant to ask, where did you end up buying your parts from? I think I've all but convinced myself I need to do a manual swap but I'm going to double/triple check everything before I start the swap so I can avoid any unnecessary down time for the swap.
  18. Hey man sounds like you have a need for it so it'd only be unnecessary if you didn't need it! I definitely don't think it's a bad idea. I've only had the original FASS filters on mine so far but it is a bit of a pain to prime. Of note though, my truck doesn't fully prime (up to injectors) with just bumping the starter, (like my 99 will) I have to turn and crank over the engine to get any fuel up there. Kinda funny how these trucks each do things differently.
  19. So basically the switch goes to the relay and overrides it giving it constant power when the switch is on or normal operations when the switch is off?
  20. Here I am trying to sell my dirt bike and you go posting these awesome pics of rides lol
  21. I hear ya! That thing is a pain to do! Have you thought about checking your crossover tube o-rings?
  22. Mine didn't even come with instructions, but obviously it's a pretty straight forward install. I tightened the bolts down until I felt like it would just about crush in the door panel. I did ever so slightly do that on the passenger side with one bolt, but it's hardly noticeable. I didn't have shaking or vibration other then what's normal mirror shake when on a moving vehicle at speed. Also, good to see another custombatterycables.com user!
  23. If I drove the truck more then I do and actually used the switch, I'd say that's definitely a possibility, but I don't so I don't think that's the issue. Also, I was thinking, I recently sold a hypertech tuner since I wasn't using it and before I sold it I plugged it into this truck to verify that it was unlocked. I'm wondering if that uploaded some crappy old ECM load and took off my high idle goodness
  24. Nice! That looks really good, I'll have to look into cutting a slot out to fit something like this.
