  1. I was figuring for myself to just switch the power leads off of the battery. Just something simple to turn them on and let the ECM regulate until I turn them off. Start the truck, let them cycle a couple few times and then turn them off. That way if I did leave them on the ECM will shut them down before any damage is done. That is Sparky the chicken's idea anyway.
  2. Probably the wrong place for this but I have ask. Is the UK running huge budget deficits as we are here in the US? With those tax rates I would hope not.
  3. I think you found steering wander. Mine only has a couple inches it will wander if you let it.
  4. I dont like hearing that about Nations. I had leaning towards their product for while. Hopefully they help you resolve the problem. That being said the mod that Mike mentions is a big helper of AC noise. I have about 100k on an Auto Zone alternator and the AC voltage had gotten up to .035. After doing the mod my AC voltage dropped to .01. It is a worthwhile and fairly simple thing to do. What kind of AC readings are seeing?
  5. Thats my plan. When is the question.
  6. I have moved on to a 1/2 turn the last time I did it. Not sure how much I have left. I think a new box will be in my future sooner rather that later. First the HG and some other straightening out under the hood. then something, the track bar, is still loose. It is the only thing that ties the axle to the frame rigidly. The sway bar is attached to the frame and the links are attached to the axle.
  7. If all the parts are tight under there, I would suspect pay in the steering box. Mine has some play that causes wander. Heck mine had steering wander right of the lot. I do believe a while back you said you had adjusted yours and it was no help. How far did you turn the adjusting screw in? I need to give mine another turn. going to run out of turns one day. My tie rod contacts the diff a little and I dont think that is unusual from what I have read here. Were the sway bar links straight up and down? I dont quite understand the last question.
  8. Is this happening alot?
  9. Did you ever check the to see if the ECM was was powering the pump? The initial prime at key on should only last maybe a second. But if you bump the starter, no engine start, it should run the lift pump for 20 or so seconds. I am thinking that you a leak somewhere causing the long starts. The return line from the VP and the back the head tie together at a tee back behind the fuel filter. The sealing washers and grommets in the tee are prime candidates for that leak. You may or may not see any fuel leaking. But air can get and drain the high pressure lines of more fuel than the little prime you get from the lift pump. Try parking the overnight with the nose pointed down hill and see if stops. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?
  10. That is one ugly bottle of fuel.
  11. Do yourself a favor and look under the front end and if the sway bar links are leaning over check and see if the sway bar has shifted that way in the mounts. Hate to see you spend all that money just to have same problem. Check it all while you are under there. It only takes a few minutes with someone sawing on the wheel to see what is loose.
  12. My good looks got mr there.
  13. Merry Christmas to all of you guys and gals. May the Lord bestow his blessings upon us all. Cant leave without a little Christmas music. Just in case you cant tell I am in the back row, second from the left https://www.hobbyfarms.com/these-chickens-will-get-you-into-the-christmas-spirit/
  14. I can stop after a long run with the tank low and leave the engine running. I can grab the fuel line feeding the VP and its barely warm to the touch.
  15. If I could just get 4 it would help.
  16. The Dems are not going to be happy until Trump is behind bars. That is what they are after. The next 2 years is going to be very unproductive.

Greetings Nate. Dont know nothing about no Darts other than the couple I was around back in the 70's and 80's. Good luck on the car.
  18. damp pavement is easy to drift on if you aint careful getting on the interstate,
  19. The mark between 140 and 190 = 165. the mark between 190 and 240 = 215, if that helps. My scan gauge marches right along with those temps. Not hard to eyeball, 190 or 200 will still read the same except for yours gong 10* higher.
  20. Well I do a lot of road time, like you Mike, But I use my full 35 gallons while driving. No half tank fill ups for me. I do not monitor fuel temp, have no way to. But some of my trips would require 3 stops for fuel where one or none are easily possible. It has worked for me for 17 years and I have no change is site. Here's to the low fuel light, let it burn.
  21. I like my LS, have grown quite fond of it. I can also drift race with it.
  22. My truck gauge and my scan gauge mirror each other. They both read off of the same sensor thru the ODB connection.
  23. FWIW when I installed my new RV275's I got an intermittent lopey idle. Went away after a while. I had no extended starts from it though. The truck ran fine and I never paid much attention to it. Whether they are related I could not say.
  24. Some of the reading I have done says the the acidic flux is really bad on soldering smaller wires than on larger ones. So no matter what I have I am not going to sweat it to much and just keep an eye on them for anything unusual. Makes me want to drain some sap out of the pine tree in the back yard.
