  1. I replaced my injection pump back in May. After putting it in when the exhaust break would disengage around 25 mph the engine would idle down almost to the point of dying then jump up like hitting the throttle real quick. Over time it got worse. Would die going into gear especially when the air was on. Occasionally it would die going into a turn letting off the throttle. It typically only got real bad when the outside air temperature was above 85°. The pump is tested in a 70° room is what the rebuilder said. Last Saturday I swapped out the pump through warranty. So far so good no more issues. My injectors are less than six months old. The old pump went out a month or two after putting the injectors in.
  2. If you see any movement in the joint where they go into the cups they are toast. Everything should be tight. Check the front drive shaft as well.
  3. I hear ya! My Blue chip pump I put in back in May has never worked right. When the exhaust break shuts off at about 25mph the engine idle drops way down then jumps up causing a jerk every time. Going from drive to reverse and vice versa the engine dies. Sometimes it will die slowing down for a turn. That’s always fun with no power steering. It only starts doing that when the outside temp gets above 85-90 degrees. Waiting on Doug to send me another pump.
  4. Sorry for your loss.
  5. It’s not that hard. You have several people on here that are running them. Every truck is different. The Quad gives you the ability to customize YOUR own truck. To be honest I’d probably sell my truck if I didn’t have the Quadzilla. It works that good!
  6. If you’re WTS light isn’t coming on. More than likely you have a bad ecm and or pcm.
  7. Happy 4th from Commiefornia! God bless America!
  8. With the Quad you could put 7x.10’s ,150 hp, injectors in and tune it down. Then later put a bigger turbo in. Another pro having a Quad.
  9. My truck on flat ground floats around 25-30% engine load. Try raising yours to 30 and test on a flat road. I set my cruise control so the throttle stays pretty even to maintain cruise mode.
  10. Start at 30% I wouldn’t go much higher than 32. I’m running at 32% because of my larger than stock tires.
  11. 15 degrees at cruise @2,000 rpms is pretty low. Even pulling my travel trailer on flat ground My light load timing runs about 23- 24 degrees of timing but I’m running studs. My light load limit is set at 32%. My base scale at 1,500 rpm starts at 16 degrees but my injectors are set at 320 bar. You should be fine running 20 degrees of cruise timing at 2,000 rpms. What does your base timing scale look like?
  12. Nice! I’m still driving around in my low mile 262,000 gem! ? That’s awesome, congratulations!
  13. Just ordered a pack of 3 off Amazon. $35 shipped. Thank you gentlemen.
  14. I would get ahold of @dieselautopower very helpful and knowledgeable guys. Plus a site sponsor.
  15. Yes. Plan on changing it tomorrow. Are those Donaldson filters sold at Napa or at a local parts house?
  16. Sooooooo leave it in the jugs? ?
  17. My brother in-law is a truck driver. He delivers fuel for a Chevron jobber. A few years ago Caterpillar tried to get them to sell their oil. They left them a sample. Well yesterday they were cleaning up the shop and they asked if anybody wanted the sample. Otherwise they were going to recycle it. So guess what this guy got? One oil change with it can’t hurt!
  18. The only time you would need a computer I believe is if Quadzilla had an update for the box itself. I believe it’s been a couple of years or so since they’ve done that. I’ve never had to do it since I’ve had mine. So to answer your question once you receive the quad to get it running yes all you will need is your phone. They come with the newest software.
  19. Yes. The phone with the app would be your head unit. Sorry misunderstood what you were saying.
  20. Once you initially program and save your tune on a phone or tablet and upload it to the Quad No you do not have to have the display on all the time. I use an iPad. I only use it after I’ve tweaked a tune. Just to check my engine load and light load timing advance. Anytime you unplug the Quad or disconnect you’re truck batteries you will have to upload whatever tune you want to use. Otherwise you’ll be driving on the factory tune.
  21. You have a Quadzilla already. I’d definitely do the 7x.10’s minimum. You’ll work the VP less at lower boost pressure and with no smoke. My truck runs pretty dam good loaded and unloaded! Always puts a smile on my face. As far as studs go ya you can change them out one at a time. Just don’t forget to readjust your valves after.
  22. Smoke isn’t bad at all but those mirrors and cup holder is another story! ?
