  1. I’ve never ran an Edge but I know from what I’ve read on here with my setup I wouldn’t be happy. I love the Quad. So many more things you can do with it. I’ve changed injectors 3 times. Started with a stock engine. Hy35 to an Hx35 now my hybrid. Each change I was able to write a new tune to get the most out of my setup. No black smoke. Plenty of info and knowledgeable guys here willing to help out with a Quad.
  2. Have you read through the Quadzilla tuning procedure? Are you running with the wiretap on?
  3. I would definitely check the fuel pressure on the lift pump. Idling and under a load, throttle smashed!
  4. Have you tried unplugging the edge and see if it still does it?
  5. First thing I would do would be put a fuel pressure gauge in. Check it at idle and under a load. I believe around 14psi the check valve opens. That keeps the electronics on the pump cool and keeps the pump well lubricated. The VP can run with low or no fuel pressure. It’s just hard on it and it won’t last long.
  6. Should run great! Just got back from a camping trip at the coast. First trip with my hybrid. Pulled a 7% grade with the cruise control set at 57mph. My trailer loaded weighs in at about 7,500 lbs. truck ran great! Couldn’t be happier.
  7. He’ll regret that!
  8. If you’re running stock springs you can probably get away with just supporting the frame and unbolting the shocks. Should pull out with little effort like Dieselfuture said. Ive got an air lift jack I put under the frame on the front end. It barley gets it high enough.
  9. Over 100k on the injectors. I’d check for a boost leak. Either way I’d say your sticks are worn out especially if they were set at stock bar. You’re gonna love this but I’d ditch the smarty and get a Quadzilla!! ?
  10. My son scored this at a costumers house. IMG_0621.MOV
  11. I’ve had one on my truck for a few years now. I got it cheap on eBay. Like $40 or $50. Figured it couldn’t hurt.
  12. Put the reman IP in. Dam she runs great! Before I could get 28-30 psi of boost. Now she hits 35-38. Everything overall is better.
  13. Nice spread you have there!
  14. My truck is having the same issue. Hot hard starts. The idle in park is a little erratic. And has died on my son once coming to a stop light. No codes have been thrown. Spoke with Bluechip on Friday. I ordered their premium SO pump being I plan on having the truck for a long time.
  15. Thanks @dave110 I was actually thinking that in the back of my head. Last week my son was driving it and as he was approaching the stop light it died. He cranked it a few times and it finally started. Being he’s 17 I thought maybe he was fiddling around that caused it to die. It’s never just died on me. I figured it would throw a code if ip was the problem. My lp pressure at idle is 20. The lowest it may drop is 14. I’m running a relay for the lp that is triggered by the ecm. Maybe time to call Bluechip. Just spoke with Bluechip. Very helpful gentleman. Can’t remember his name. He said with all the symptoms it’s the injection pump. The reman pump should be here next Friday. The truck has about 271,000. I bought it with 231,000. It could be the original injection pump.
  16. White smoke. That makes sense. I changed out a couple set of injectors over the last couple of years. I cheated and didn’t change out the O-rings or tubes. Probably all original. Just got back from a one hour drive. We stopped at the grocery store and it took a lot of cranking to get her fired up. Backed back into the driveway. Nose down. Turned her off. Tried to start again and same long crank. I waited a few minutes then she fired right up. Guess I’ll be putting new o-rings in. At least to remove it from the equation.
  17. Can crossover tubes cause a slightly rough idle in park and occasional hard starts and not leak diesel into the engine? I’ve tightened the banjo bolt behind the head and the T fitting next to it. I park the truck nose down in the driveway no issues starting. Park it on level ground and every few startups it takes extra cranking for it to start. Injectors are fairly new. It didn’t start right after the injector install. Probably a couple thousand miles after. Thanks for any help.
  18. I first ran a 5 amp fuse. A few days later it popped. I then put a 7.5 amp fuse in. No problems for over 2 years.
  19. A used cast compressor wheel? I’d offer him a case of beer or $20. If he takes the beer drink a few with him.
  20. I rebuilt mine a couple years ago with a new turbine and compressor wheel. From what I remember it didn’t cost to much. I’d shop around online. Check out eBay. Should be a long list of them. A cast wheel should be pretty inexpensive.
  21. I just followed @IBMobile guide. He linked it on your thread. He even gives the NAPA part number relay that has the diode. It’s on the first page. I bought two. For a backup. @jtrakel
  22. Thanks @IBMobile installed my lift pump relay today. 15 amp pump fuse and 2 amp ECM fuse. Thank you sir!
