The RV: should I buy it?
What I'm getting after is why invest $2K into something that might not work for you? Consider what you plan on doing first before you jump and buy it. I did the very same thing my Dad sold me his 78 Dodge Jamboree for $3K and I jumped on it thinking it was a killer deal and found out in about 2 years it doesn't work for us so all it did was sit on the property and rot away... :banghead:

Will tires throw off factory mpg counter
No. Its the flow rate out of the injectors in to cylinders. so if I was to do that then... 0.3 MPG = 55 MPH / 150 GPH Lift Pump As you can see the math doesn't work out at all... Here is a live display of my ScanGauge and its calibrated for my truck... http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRQdoPs_tLo Now you'll see the math in real time... My offset in the SGII are 22.5% GPH offset and 1% offset for speed.

Need help!
It would have to be a like year truck that is diesel. Gas engine a totally different setup.

Hail Storm!
Both trucks (96 and 02) were fast asleep in the garage... Thanks... Its a lot of work to keep a place like this going way out here in the middle of nowhere.

Will tires throw off factory mpg counter
So to put it simply... Miles pre gallon figures are produced from 2 numbers flow and speed. MPG = SPEED MILES PER HOUR / FLOW GALLON PER HOUR 22 MPG = 55 MPH / 2.5 GPH So if the ECM is feeding the overhead computer bad information on either speed or flow then the whole thing goes south. 24.4 MPG = 55 MPH / 2.25 GPH (-0.25 offset error) 25.3 MPG = 57 MPH (+2 offset error) / 2.25 GPH (-0.25 offset error) So in a few examples here I was able to skew the MPG display by a full 3.3 MPG with 2 small errors.

Frantz oil filter
Question to you White... What is the filter cost to replace and how long do they last? Can you only get the filter from them only or is there other outlets?

The RV: should I buy it?
Here is my feeling on motorhomes... When you pack up a motorhome and stay in a camp site you'll have everything home like. But the only problem is when you need to go to the store or such you got to pack up the entire camp site and motorhome tie everything down just to go shopping or pickup supplies. I've owned a 1976 Dodge Jamboree which was exactly this issue. Get to camp and be there a few days and need to go somewhere... Pack it all back up... :rolleyes:Now with a 5th Wheel or travel trailer you can haul it with your Dodge and get rather good MPG's. Then when you get to the camp site you unhitch and the you can jump in the truck and go shopping or looking around. 5th wheels tend to pull better but also have a bigger profile to cut wind usually a bit low in the MPG dept.If you have a travel trailer and not a 5th wheel you can haul ATV's, UTV, bicycles etc in the bed of the truck and still haul the trailer but with a 5th wheel the bed is basically consumed with the hitch. Very limited what you can toss in the bed. So hence the travel trailer works for me...

Sad Day for Mopar1973Man!
I don't know Russ... But that 1973 Charger is what made me who I am today and my love for the Mopar products. It's also what I learned how to turn my very first wrench on. Trust me I learn a awful lot of things with that Charger. Basically what I'm saying is if it wasn't for my Dad giving me the Charger for a graduation present this site might not of ever come to be. The Charger was the vehicle that got me started down the slippery slope of Mopar / Dodge Products... :whistle:Could of been worse my first rig could of been a Ford or Chevy...

Rubbing through steering wheel
PS fluid should tan to honey color. Never black. As for flushing here is a 3rd Gen method but it works. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/3rd-generation-dodge-cummins/53-engine-system/119-power-steering-flush

Think about it... This is the vehicle that made me who I am. Mopar 1973 Man - 1973 Dodge Charger hence where my nickname comes from and the site name. This is the very first vehicle that made me a Mopar Nut, Dodge Crazy! Might as well been putting the dog down...

2 Stroke and the Common Rail
I've got a 17 year old Chainsaw (Sthl 046 Magnum) still got the factory orignal spark plug yet. I've only pulled it once and cleaned it in 17 years the gap is still good too. Dorkweed is right 2 cycle oil is designed to burn and doesn't contain things like ash, friction modifers, anti-scorching compounds, etc. Which are now being found in todays oils and ATF. These things are harsh on the fuel system and will degrade the performance of the truck in a semi-permanent manner. (Ash build up on pistons and injectors).

Sad Day for Mopar1973Man!
Well it finally left the property today... I'm sure going to miss that old car... Like all you said it best to left go and allow some one else to enjoy the vehicle now after he builds it back up again. :thumbup2:My buddy Relentless70 show up with his trailer and we loaded it up and got it tied down. The the new owners showed up shortly afterwards and finished the transaction and handed over the title.

2 Stroke and the Common Rail
Agreed! WEO/WMO is not a good idea for Common Rail or VP44 injection pumps because of the tight tolerances within the fuel system. Even when Cummins allowed WEO/WMO to be used in the early years it was only allowed up to 5% by volume or 1.5 Gallons to 35 Gallon tank. So these guys that are burning WEO/WMO are risking ruining a very expensive fuel system trying to save a few pennies.

PEX plumbing
Arrgh...On my last outing I notice water dripping down on the rear corner of the RV. It was leak from up inside near the city water connector. Looking at the plumbing there is a piece of vinyl tubing clamped to the city water fitting and the PEX elbow. So loosen up the clamps to find both are damaged so I might as well replace the tubing too. Gave a firm tug on the city water side and POP! It came off but it broke the PEX elbow. I called the local lumber yard and they have no way of cutting the PEX clamp band. Great! So I hunted around the property to find the Dremel tool I found a small grinding wheel started slowly grinding the band. Well eventually the band got hot and the plastic melted behind it. POP! The elbow came out with minimal loss of tubing! Right On! So now today I'll take a trip to the local lumber yard and get Sharkbite connector, barb, 2 hose clamps, and a piece of new tubing!
