  2. +12 Volt battery lead is just a direct single wire to the battery with a fuse.+12 Volt switched lead is using a relay to trigger power from a second wire from the battery with a fuse.Panel lighting is a tapped lead into the radio adapter I'm using for my Kenwood MP3 player.Ground lead is of course a lead back to the ground terminal on the battery. As for gauge size and fuses...10 AWG = 55 Amps12 AWG = 40 Amps14 AWG = 30 Amps16 AWG = 20 Amps18 AWG = 15 Amps20 AWG = 10 Amps22 AWG = 5 AmpsSo typically people wire with 16 AWG wire so you use a 20 amp fuse for your main bus lines to the battery.
  3. Talk to JL Welding he's welder on the site with lots of good tools... :smart:Then you might try Prowelder but I've not seen him in a coons age...
  4. This is my way...Use a terminal block for attaching all your accessories in one spot. Like in this old picture...Top down..1. +12V Battery2. +12V Switchwed3. Panel lighting (not shown)4. Ground
  5. You must be talking about the oil cooler? Or is it the turbo drain line down lower?
  6. I don't think your going to see much change really... I know there is dual intake horn setup I think by BD that has a new intake manifold plate and 2 intake horns. Also I think it only works on 12V's... But this idea would get better flow than spool aid... http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQd4PM3U3P85luNJBKAn3Y3sp-NdCOP7cUvionszlgGGpBK4hI_z4tfKcE0
  7. Riggins, ID is at $3.929... Little drop...
  8. If it was me I would replace all the tubing under the hood with new vinyl tubing from a hardware store and not look back.
  9. Not really there is no way to access the vacuum lines unless you pull the dash back in the passenger side. Sorry John...
  10. You hit the nail on the head exactly. Plenty of firewood, nice warm fire, big cup of hot coffee, and my internet family. Shovelling snow is what keeps me in shape through the winter time. Then I plow the driveways out for my neighbor and I. Then I might get phone call to go find a lost soul in the woods that went out hunting or hiking. I only visit the big cities for supplies and good I need to keep the homestead going. So all summer long we dart in and out of Boise and Ontario picking up supplies so when the weather get foul and cold we just sit back and enjoy watching mother nature blanket the valley in white.
  11. (Phone call placed to Rogan about ScanGauge II)
  12. Yea! For Rogan!
  13. Not much for us as 24V trucks... As for the future I'm uncertain they might get more programming for it. But its nice to rig up custom XGauges for you own purposes. Remember ScanGauge II can be used in any vehicle so there is a full list of different gauges for others... http://www.scangauge.com/support/x-gauge-commands/
  14. Your giving me way too much credit there CSM... You claim I'm a wizard with these trucks... Maybe in your eyes but I'm just a lowly Cummins owner just like everyone else here. I don't have any certification in diesel engines. Its just that with all my conversation with hundreds if not thousands of people I've learned a few tricks. But in all reality it the family member here that have the brains. You guys and gals that have fought to the bitter end to solve problems and share your answers with the family here are the ones that are wizards. So all you take a bow because it's this crazy little family that pulls it together and figures out how to solve those problems!
  15. Kind of like me going to Boise, ID or Ontario, OR. The roads all the way down to Weiser, ID is kind and courteous people that allow you out on the highway and yield to you even though the don't have too. But it seem once I get past Weiser, ID into Payette and Fruitland, ID everything goes out the window. Now my old school California training kicks in and the lead brick is installed in the right foot. Now this time I'm glad I have 400 HP to get my truck rolling even when I'm 52 foot long. :burnout2:But like today I had to run to Riggins, ID to do a A/C job and set the cruise for 55 MPH kick back and enjoy the ride. No one around, no traffic, no problems...
  16. Lot of times I just turn if all off and just roll down the windows too... Because 90% of the time when you get on a Idaho dirt road you will go up hill into the mountain where its cooler so save the fuel and enjoy the cooler air.
  17. Over loaded with too much oil... If you been buying those can of freon from WalMart with the little hose it comes with a 2 oz shot of PAG oil too. So after a few time of recharging eventually the compressor is over loaded with oil and oil is much much hard to compress than freon. Just chillin'
  18. Dang Hex is right I'm 180 miles from a interstate. Its wonderful out here. Like yesterday I went to McCall, ID for basic shopping (milk, eggs, bread, etc) which is 35 mile away from home. Set my cruise for 55 MPH and end up passing 3 cars going slower then me. (Posted 65 MPH) Then on the way home I set cruise again at 55 MPH and there was only 1 person that passed me in 35 miles. Living out here is awesome. Longer distances to get stuff and services but lack of traffic and crime is wonderful.
  19. Excuse me... You mean ADawg...
  20. Way I was taught in LA, California is you turn on your turn signal and start merging in to that lane. As long as your larger that the vehicle beside you they will move over. I see that here in Boise, ID with the I-84 interstate.I normal come rolling on the on ramp about +5 MPH over everyone else just do a forcible merge.
  21. I have the shop look at as a inspection but nothing more... Get R' Done... Install those hubs...
  22. Hmmm... I'm not sure but all I can say is look for the modified wiring and go from there... Pictures would be helpful.
