  1. Heck... On my way off the mountain I got to Riggins, ID and it was 104*F yesterday... Then today we hit 95*F here at the house and then in McCall, ID is was still 89*F at 5,200 ft elevation... Me... I can handle cold sooooo Good... Not a problem... Its the heat I can't deal with... I'll I do is pour sweat all over my glasses and can't see a dang thing anyways...
  2. Something I'm starting to see after hauling heavy. Like I just spent the weekened hauling firewood off the mountain did about 14 MPG for the weekend. But after it was all said and done the truck is empty and headed for McCall, ID for some groceries and couldn't hit even close to 20 MPG?!?! WTH! What I think happens is the ECM/PCM tend to anticipate the drivers requirements / load requirements. I'm assuming mine will return to normal here shortly after a few empty miles. I know there is no documentation on this but I've heard stories of this for GM products... I think it could be possible for Dodge/Cummins too.
  3. Here... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/personal/2002/frantz-filter/frantz-filter.htm
  4. Another great article added to the site... http://articles.mopar1973man.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50:engine-how-to-change-your-oilfilter&catid=14&Itemid=115 Thank you ISX.
  5. Yeah those are wiped out...
  6. That's what tripods are good for...
  7. Do it! I'd love to add more information to this more the merrier...
  8. How a pic of the truck? Dang I would of thrown the deer in the bed of the truck and made jerky out it... The only thing I can say about common rail is to get the best fuel filter you can for the truck and don't skimp. Most all injector problems turn into big dollar engine problems that usually require a short block. So if there is a existing injector problem on the truck I would tell them you'll only buy the truck if all 6 injectors are replaced.
  9. Dare to be different. Now that I think about I don't think they have short bed 3500 DRW...
  10. The cheap nylon oil pressure line will get rather brittle in about a year or two so when you put your hand down to get to the power steering cap you'll most likely break the line right there. :banghead: Been there and done that way to many times... I still got a stock of extra ferrules...
  11. Opps my bad I thought I pasted the link... :banghead: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/product/inteli-power-rv-switcherconverter/1768
  12. Well I know some of you seen my firewood video now here is a short video clip of the life of my BHAF... My first BHAF last 7 years and 135K miles before I finally gave up because the media was finally darkening on the inside of the filter but the filter minder never moved. I've check the filter minder several times and it still functions just fine...
  13. Thank you ISX you always had a good way of handling videos... Nice one for oil changes...
  14. Talk to DieselAutoPower... (The post above)
  15. I totally agree there is no reason for that...
  16. Yeah... Being about 20 miles up a dirt road going from 1,800 ft and climbing to 7,500 feet to cut firewood and then wonder back down loaded takes time. Being the friends I was with got all there trucks loaded and I done a double trip I'd say I did rather well. But that still isn't enough for me... I need to do this kind of weekend 2 more times... My problem is my lower back is absolutely singing this morning and MoparMom is like "you better get rolling soon or you'll be unloading the truck in the heat of the day." Yeah its suppose to be like 96*F here...
  17. Here is what I got in my RV... Really good power converter / battery charger...
  18. Well if you turn on the pump before you start the truck you'll have hard starting issues. Then if you forget to turn on the pump after you start the engine then you VP44 will be ruined... During cranking the lift pump is modulated at 50% duty cycle till you release the key to prevent excessive pressure during starting.
  19. This might be true... But had no idea about the condition of the forward belt being it hidden against the deck. But yes it would of been smart to ball all belt and replace them all. I'm just a bit goofy...
  20. OMG... The weird thing you guys have got out there in the midwest...
  21. Not to highjack the OP's post I'm curious of prices on the RV275 nozzles?
  22. Those brakets are worth gold. You might try and find someone like Prowelder or JL Welding willing to reproduce those brackets... I see people enjoy my idea of tucking up against the transfer case for 4WD applications...
