  1. I just had my first Quadzilla failure tonight. Basically rolling into the rest area notice that the display went all zero's and then started like a reconnect. Knowing the fuse tap is possible weak spot I double check it and thought I got it. Nope. Connect and the values where all over the map. Boost was bouncing 1 to 14 and back and forth. EGT's all over the place. Then fail to all zero's again. Then attempt to connect and lock up midway. Crap. Next stop I check the fuse tap again and the fuse itself. The same thing occurred again. Crap. Third stop... I decided to check the BATT connection and the ground connection. Wouldn't of figured my ground bolt had managed to come lose and you could here the relay in the Quad snap everytime I touched that ground wire sure enough the bolt was loose. Tighten the bolt and came home the last 20 miles. Now I'm going to watch my other BUGS I posted and see if this impacts there performance at all.

  3. Still going to need some sort of fuel management to control smoke.
  4. Thanks for reporting back in with your findings. I would still have the batteries retested to be sure your not stressing the alternator with weak batteries.
  5. Darn connector that holds the cables together snapped. Rolled into local NAPA store they had the clip. It's a universal clip. Part number 675-1549. Photos not uploading now but I'll post later. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NDP6751549
  6. VP44 is not original the VOID tag is torn. That has been removed before. Your end cap does look like a object was pinned between the worm gear plug and the cap.
  7. Oh come on your suppose to put a dab behind each ear women love that manly smell. I've got a new washer dryer combo that are both front loaders. Just use the Tide soap and normal wash cycle. Come out of the drier smelling fresh and free of fuel smell.
  8. Update... 330k. Rolling the miles fast.
  9. I used self-sealing brass fittings no sealants needed.
  10. 30 PSI of boost and just compression will produce 1,100 PSI of cylinder pressure without fuel injected. Add heavy shot of fuel and advanced timing I'm pretty sure at some point the injectors could be overwhelmed by cylinder pressures more so with high boost runs. This why you see drivers throttle tap couple of time after a drop of throttle to keep fuel flowing till cylinder pressures fall.
  11. Should be able to get the fasteners from most body shops. The part number look up books are in the article database. https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/part-number-lookup-tool-2nd-gen-24v/
  12. Totally based on IAT temperatures. If IAT is reporting 15F or less then 3 CYL mode will start.
  13. They won't hold up to the winter snow conditions and unplowed roads safely not to mention one deer or elk could possibly kill us both. My last trip home the snow plows were having troubles keeping up being 3 of them were trapped on the wrong side of a vehicle accident and the one lone plow was working double time so I was driving through foot deep snow to get home. Little car could never do that safely. Not to mention look at the fact in 4 month later I'm going to be 100k miles of going back and forth I've got way better longevity with the Cummins, way less down time, don't have another vehicle to ensure, register and put tags on, plus we don't have the funds to buy another car now.
  14. Correct the PCM controls the voltage regulation. The blue wire is a +12 KEY wire. The GREEN wire is a variable ground lead. So these two wires need to be checked for 0 ohm from end to end to ensure that the field is being charged on the alternator. Both Bosch ND alternators are externally regulated just like it has been for around 50 years! I would bench test the current alternator and verify both DC and AC ripple voltages. I doubt it will pass. Another spot to look that is commonly missed is the alternator fuse.
  15. No, during the hard starting. If the gauge bounces or falls during cranking its a sign of air coming up the line.
  16. Try parking nose down to see if the prime holds? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge on the low pressure side? What does the gauge do during cranking?
  17. @Dieselfuture Focus... Keep your focus here. Different topic about BPA plastics and health issue. I'm taking about sulphric acid and what can contain it. Then giving an idea on how to protect battery terminals.
  18. Actually just easier to unplug the entire Quadzilla module that way its protected.
  19. I agree... WD40 is junk. I tend to get two types of PB Blaster. The standard PB Blaster for getting frozen fasteners apart. As for typically lube maintenance of the vehicle I like the PB Blaster silicone spray works awesome.
  20. Accidentally putting gasoline in a diesel fuel tank I know people have accidentally pump gasoline into diesel fuel tank. The tough part is proper repair for this would be to have the truck towed to a shop or home and have the entire diesel fuel tank dumped of the gasoline and diesel fuel mixture and fresh diesel fuel put back in the fuel tank before starting the engine. Some people just are busy and not paying attention and end up grabbing the gasoline hose instead of the diesel. The quantity of diesel fuel remaining in the fuel tank and the amount of gasoline pump on top of the existing diesel fuel is what will make the decision on towing or not. If there is a majority of diesel fuel compared to gasoline you might just get away with adding 2 cycle oil to the fuel say 64:1 to 128:1 ratio to bring the lubricity back up in the fuel. The other thing is gasoline is very high cetane rating. Back years ago and some still do mix kerosene or gasoline to the diesel fuel to prevent diesel fuel gelling. So if you do happen to pump gasoline fuel in your diesel truck small amount you can get away with adding 2 cycle oil. Do not use ATF which is way too high in ash content and will create other issues on top of the gasoline diesel mixture you've got now in the fuel tank. For truck owners that have a AirDog or FASS fuel system, you could use a jumper wire in the relay and output line. Basically, disconnect your fuel line and pump the gasoline mixed diesel fuel out of the fuel tank using a jumper in the relay socket this way the pump does the work for you and pumps the fuel tank empty if your gasoline to diesel mixture was too high. If you still have the factory fuel system you could disconnect that at the injection pump or lift pump. Then using a shop vacuum reverse the hose so it hooked up to blow air. This should produce enough pressure at the filler neck to push the fuel out of the tank and through the fuel line to a buckets or fuel container. As for siphoning fuel from the filler neck is impossible on most Dodge Ram truck being there is a rollover ball in the tank neck. This prevents you from getting into the tank bottom and getting the fuel out from the filler neck. Be aware that most shops charge a hefty fee for disposing of gasoline mixed diesel fuel. In the same token running the gasoline mixed diesel fuel in the truck will most like cost even more in damages to injection pump and fuel injectors replacements.
  21. That about when my fan locks.
  22. Get a Quadzilla Adrenaline and turn up the fuel where you need it. Way better control of fuel and can produce way more power without excessive smoke. Remember excessive black smoke is unburnt fuel.
  23. Might contact @Dynamic and see what he's got to say about you transmission issue.
  24. Kind of like this... https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-24617-703-273.aspx?year=2001&make=Dodge&model=Ram%202500&parttype=Door%20Hinge%20Pin%20and%20Bushing%20Kit&origin=YMM
  25. Yes. It does show a rise even though real pressure doesn't change. This the only time I see skewed numbers. As long as the temp is not fooled then the numbers appear correct.
