  1. Im sure the US will follow suit like the other county’s, for it will probably get worse before it gets better. Around here it’s mostly vacation homes, I’m one of the very few that live here year around, in the winter we probably average less than 10 people per square mile. but lately, I have been getting calls to go plow peoples drives so they can escape the city’s and come up and un-board their vacation homes and hopefully escape the chaos, I just got back from town, spent 80.00 bucks at wal mart stocking up the RV, to head out on a week long very primitive camping trip while some relatives house sit our home. I’m just going to enjoy some cheap diesel prices ( 2.38 a gallon now and falling) and burn up some saved up vacation and sick days from work, I could probably ride it out for a few months If I had too but not going to get that drastic right now. I’m just going to get away from all the TV and internet chaos for now, Im sure it will be worse when we return but just going to enjoy the solitude while we can.
  2. I agree with @Haggar check for a reputable rebuild shop first, if you can down your truck for the duration. Start replacing with box stores and your just be playing the replacement game Is yours a bosch? If so, get it rebuilt. I’m still running the original bosch at 335k, still working like the day it was new, and never even disconnected my grids, they cycle on a daily basis. you could also check into the nations alternators, heard they are top notch, just pay once and cry once
  3. I would not jump to resealing vacuum pump unless it’s leaking oil, main couse of oil blow by is vacuum leak on hoses, it’s why your heater control is on defrost, it’s in default mode. Start checking hoses from pump all through the system.
  4. A valve body with the ability to lock all gears is all I know, as far freeing up parts, I have my parts washer filled with 20 gallons of wd-40. I have used it to Free up some very rusty parts and makes a good cleaning agent too. It works good for parts that have gaskets and seals that you dont want dried out like a solvent does.
  5. I agree, glow **** is a waste of money, start out right with quality gauges
  6. Well I think a lots been covered in the above post so I won’t elaborate to much, but If your starting out simple on the gauges get a fuel pressure gauge first, A single gauge steering column mount would be a good place to start, and easy to install and they are not to restrictive on viewing your instrument cluster. Genos Garage and Vulcan perfomance both have a good selection of gauges and mounts, you can always upgrade to more gauges with pillar or dash mounts which ever you prefer, the isspro gauges are very popular, a little pricey but well worth it.
  7. Better hope she doesn’t get to ride in a 2019, you might be trading both your 2nd gens in. at least mine was that way, but I had to remind her that we still had to eat and pay the mortgage
  8. I remember researching the same 2 core vs. 3 core and came to the conclusion that since the radiators were the same dimensions the 2 core had larger rows vs 3 smaller rows with a 3 core. so kind of a trade off. I also remember that you had to specify if you had a built in tranny cooler or external, mine is external, but I really don’t remember if I have a 2 or 3 core, but leaning toward 2 core
  9. Same here, replaced my leaky with one from Oriely’s about 5 years ago, Still going and I do pull 21k up hill in the dessert in the summer lol. if I remember right it was advertised and sold as a Murray and box said spectra but who knows
  10. My condolence sent, sorry for your loss
  11. I wouldn’t worry about a year old date code, most generally 7-8 years is considered out of date, trick is keep them covered and out of direct sun when not in use. If you get half that many years before the tread wears out, your golden, happy fishing My carsile tires are st185/80/13 load c rated at 1480, I’ve never even looked at the date code, for me it usually takes a magnifying glass and a spot light for the markings are so small.
  12. HFRR = High Frequency Reciprocating Rig. 2 stroke oil should be labeled TCW-3 which stands for two cycle water cooled, which I believe chain saw 2 stroke does not meet this criteria. It’s all about the ash content in the oil. If shopping at Walmart, look in the sporting goods marine department and pick up some penzoil outboard 2 stroke oil, you can get it in quarts or gallon size, about $17.00 per gallon.
  13. These showed up yesterday, Hopefully I can get them mounted without to much hacking lol
  14. sounds like the UK’s strict carbon free energy policy’s to combat climate change is really starting to pay off,
  15. @Octafish Are you monitoring fuel pressure during these cycles,
  16. I don’t know about the trailer tires but I bought 2 sets of 4 Kenda atv tires, they held up good
  17. Thanks for the pics @Towrigdually I will have to check those with my truck tomorrow,
  18. @Doubletrouble your current mpg’s aren’t that far off, considering its winter time, are you running winter blend diesel? That will reduce your mileage by 2 mpg or so
  19. The 2071 mounts on springs to outside of frame, which I may go that way if the other style don’t work out. I may have to notch the brackets a little to fit around my hitch brackets, I did find out that the 3500 C & C frame is different as it is narrower Over the rear axle, If the information I got is correct, but don’t know how that effects the air bag installation Thank you, that would be helpful, I am ready to pull the trigger on these, just trying to find one that has the least amount of fabrication involved
  20. Is their a difference in the 2500 frame and axle mounts and the 3500, reason is I was getting ready to order these but the manufacture says they will work on the 3500 not the 2500 ? maybe something to do with the C & C vs. the standard truck ?
  21. The only rat race is around Phoenix and surrounding suburbs, Roosevelt lake is in the Tonto Basin, very laid back with a couple small towns within a 30 mile drive with a few restaurants and gas stations, Scottsdale is about an hour and half drive I believe
  22. One of my favorite late winter early spring campground is Roosevelt lake in central/southern Arizona, the lake is a warm water with typical large and small mouth bass and crappie and catfish. Even if the fishing is slow the campground can make up for a bad day fishing with its spectacular desert views and warm weather, although most of the campground is primitive with no hook ups, but does have community water wells and running water bathroooms and showers, the price is right too at 6.00 per day and over 300 campsites spread around the 30 mile long lake you can find find primitive spots with no neighbors and just camp where ever you see fit. They all have paved roads and leveled sites with fire rings, grills and cabanas. along with several boat ramps. Solar power is a great option to with 12 plus hour days of sunshine a common thing. A little to hot for me in the summer but a nice winter time getaway that you don't have to drill holes to go fishing Lol. It is located about 1 1/2 hours east of Phoenix Az. about 2000 ft. Elevation, It about an 8 hour drive south for me, 360 miles but that double towing 5ver and boat, it’s all down hill from Colorado from my place at nearly 8000 ft. just kinda sucks going back home
  23. I have never had the need to use a drill to prime a fuel boss, even on filter changes their is enough fuel in the lines to fire truck up, on initial install I just prefilled the filter housing with pre filtered fuel.
  24. That woman looks like she hasn’t slept in 3 years and @dave110 be careful with those pelosie pics, you might break the internet
