  1. Here is a comparison from DAP. Bosch bodies ready to go. http://dieselautopower.com/diesel-auto-power-150hp-performance-injectors-7x0-010-vco-vp7x10vco/ there are more out there just use them for a comparison.
  2. Once you swap the nozzles they probably wont be in spec. I am sending a set of RV's to DAP and they quoted me $110 to rebuild them as long as they dont have to replace any nozzles. What does the shop you know want to do the work?
  3. I guess I I should have read that a little better.
  4. I would also. Are you worried about the 150's as they are?
  5. There are 2 vent holes at the bottom of the doors. Just squirt the oil in thru them. I have done it to mine. It helps if the truck is a little tilted then it will run the full length of the door. I started doing when I saw a little rust. Hope it helps I am pretty sure they will work all the way back to a 94 providing they are from the same style cab. The reg cab doors are round on the bottom opposite the hinge. Would not hurt to take some measurements though. I am sure someone here knows for sure.
  6. Thats petty much what the fancy tool does and what @JAG1 suggested with pvc pipe. Should work just fine.
  7. 1 thru 4 maybe but 5 and 6 would be a challenge. Not sure Snap On sells a tool for that.
  8. My favorite no parking aign
  9. They must have put the wrong engine in mine.
  10. I think the first thing i would do is stand back and marvel that my truck only had 63000 miles on it. I passed that in mid 2004. The 5" is not necessary unless you are looking for a lot more, a whole lot more. Unless you just want it, it wont hurt anything. Mr Nelson, the site owner, still has his stock 3". I put 4" on mine back in 05 and it is more than enough for what I have. BhAF Definitely Fass 150 or equivalent definitely Quad definitely Some bigger injectors. What size depends on what you want to do over all. If you are leaving other things stock a set of RV275's or even up to maybe some 75 hp would be good. I put a set of the RV's in mine many years ago and have been very happy with them. got a little bump in MPG. Id o have some 50 hp injectors I just installed and the jury is out on them as of yet. It all really depends on what you have in mind of where you want to go.
  11. Is he local to your area and does he take work from out of town?
  12. I remember reading a response over on CF, IIRC anyway, when asked about why he bought a Dodge. His response was "I bought a Cummins and a Dodge came wrapped around it." i always like that. I do like my Dodge but it was the Cummins that brought me to it. After 15 years of owner ship and the only big ticket items I have had to replace is the ECM, one VP, and one 6 speed tranny. Sure it sucked but I dont think Ford or Chevy would have done any better. Spent a whole lot more money paying for it the first 5 1/2 years than I spent the next 9 1/2 years driving it. Excluding voluntary mods I might add.
  13. I get my best mileage with the Comp on 5X3 on the highway. My best is 22.3 pure interstate run. Prior to the comp about 20.3. No logs to back that up just my feeble memory.
  14. I believe Dodge wants you to think they had something to do with the success of the Cummins engine.
  15. The are by far very good American made tools. I just cant justify the price for the little I use mine. I can also understand Christmas thing though and I dont think the Lord took any disrespect. Kind of like a kid in the candy store trying to spend his dollar.
  16. They come off of a 5.9 that did not go in a Dodge. Like used in a pump or a generator or the like.
  17. How are you checking for codes? You really need a OBDII scanner to do it right. You could have easily lost the vp with the lift pump failure but like me mine survived a failure. It is unusual for a pump to fail without some sort of code being set. it is possible the new pump was bad out of the box. Bad electronics in it can really show when things warm up. Not sure what you mean by "closed loop" and the problem starts??? Your coolant temp sensor will change voltage as the temp goes up. IIRC cold it should read around 3.5v and operating temp I do not remember. Some more info on the truck would be helpful. You can go to your profile and fill out your signature with basic info and any mods you have done. It will appear on every post just like the one on the bottom of mine.
  18. Do you care to share who this fb buddy is? There is no way I am going to tackle mine.
  19. Allstate sells a rebuilt for $2650 free shipping. $1000 core charge also. But fro what you have stated your core might not be any good. It does say you have to pay shipping on the core return. On top of that I dont anything about them other than what I read their website.
  20. Happy for the good out come and it was not the ECM.
  21. I have one I would like to get built this year. Standard Gear out of Texas I believe seems to have a good rep and there is another out Memphis, their name alludes at the moment. Have not looked at either in couple years. I guess some further research is in order. There are other cheaper ones out there but I dont want to do this but once.
  22. My kind of gremlins. When I changed my master I think I had pump for 2 or 3 weeks before the air got out of it.
  23. I have never felt the need for one nor the desire to cut a big hole in the bottom of my fuel tank even if they were legal.
