Gauge Time ISSPro EV2's
I would stay mechanical for pressure. Ev2 for the rest. When a mouse eats your ground wire it's kinda important to have a manual gauge.

Freeze out plugs
My Gawd. Was that thing buried at sea for the past decade? I've pulled hundred year old farm implements out of the holler that weren't as rusted as that!

What is everyone doing these days?
Mike, I'm super busy with an active duty school tour (Air Force Reserve) and haven't had squat for free time since November. Don't expect me back much until late 2015. The only wrenching I've done was oil and rear brakes. I have lots on the wish list but no time to get to it.

Anybody install a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) kit on their Cummins?
I doubt that I would actually get liquid to work. However, I was thinking of the small gain in energy there by adding a liquid that will turn to gas and also cool the intake system slightly. I don't have a compressor capable of that, however it is not an insurmountable task.

Anybody install a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) kit on their Cummins?
Im thinking here but in my mind, I would want CNG because I could fuel it up from a compressor from my main line at home each evening... (assuming when I move again I have gas service) Otherwise, propane could be the best option. Especially if it could be injected post turbo as a liquid, slightly cooling the gas mixture. i would also want post turbo, as its already compressed and adding more mass to compress and cool through the intercooler is a waste of energy.

Anybody install a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) kit on their Cummins?
I am going to be doing a lot of driving after I get out of training this next year... and I am thinking of ways to reduce my fuel costs other than buying a small car. I was looking at these systems, or building my own. http://mycngguy.com/product-category/diesel-bi-fuel-systems

More on turbo whistle
6.0 Fords with a straight pipe do tend to really whistle and howl like a turbine. I don't enjoy it. It isn't real power, its just noise. You can pull your silencer ring... but in reality it is more annoying than anything else. There are no gains to whistle, just noise. You could run a straight pipe with a resonator, which I do. It has a nice sound with that slight turbo through the exhaust that is pleasant without "drone." Sometimes you will have a drone at cruise with a straight pipe alone that can be very annoying in cab. It also has better flow with a bigger pipe. To be frank, I've always viewed the guys that pulled their rings to be a little over enthusiastic.

What's Your Prediction For America's Future?
OP, you say our leaders will hopefully wake up... Keep in mind, we (as a nation) picked them. I also believe that we get the leaders we deserve, as a nation. We may not agree with our leaders, but many of them don't have the same goals as we would see for the USA. I predict we will continue on the same path we have been on for the past 50 years or so in our quest to build a "great society." The costs of building such a society rests disproportionately upon those actively making money, while many strive for mediocrity. Economically, we will continue to get by as a whole. For those who really are smart, hardworking, and a bit lucky, they will do very well by comparison to the rest of the population. Opportunity is still out there. In the industries that I have worked, it is very difficult to find good employees. The upside is that good or outstanding employees really shine in the right organization and typically are duly compensated if they manage their careers properly. Socially, we have separated and as a whole vote to separate ourselves from the moral character, sacrifice, and values that our country was founded upon. Our common American Culture was a mix of all yet unified. I love diversity, but I don't like seeing the moral and racial divisions that people put in place. Such divisions are unnecessary and most of the time amount to little more than political plays. However, I do say with certainty that there are many good men and women in the younger generations. The decisions that will continue to shape the country will be a struggle at all levels by all citizens. I still have hope in the quality of people that we are producing... There are still numerous good, smart, men and women of moral character out there. Life is what we make of it as our time and place has been picked for us. Our country is what we make of it. I serve my country and God. The United States is my country which I have sworn to protect. I also keep in mind though, that this is not my eternal home. I pray for our leaders and our country yet know it isn't my only hope in life. It is still the best and most free place on earth. Furthermore, I believe that the United States will be until it's eventual demise (I hope) many many years from now. One quote that comes to mind from Alfred Adler is this: "It is always easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them." As a country, we need to live up to our principles, not change them to suit our whim or desire of the moment.

Rancherman Is A Yotahead...
Fun truck. The 22R is pretty straightforward and should make a reliable vehicle. I would be concerned about he head gasket though... as 22Rs aren't known for that. Hopefully it isn't corrosion on the head surface or anything. They can be modified to be quite powerful too, but stock they aren't the fastest.

Propane, Gaseous Gold!
That is correct. There is no shortage of reserves, proven, behind pipe, or unproven. However, gas prices at the wellhead are still quite low, especially when you look at historic gas prices in light of current inflation. Oil is similarly soft given our inflation.

Propane, Gaseous Gold!
Look at the big brain on Brad! Hedging is smart. Energy is still cheap... Especially gas.

Finally made the leap..
Good luck. stepping out of the comfort zone can be nuts. I've done it before... and I am in the process of it again. Sofar, it's always paid off for me. I am somewhat jealous of the rural lifestyle that you and Mike have gone after. However, it isn't one that I can follow for quite some time.

Given the geometry of the gears & pump, is there any chance that what caused the broken tooth caused the housing failure? Meaning, that potentially something lodged in the gear, breaking the tooth and the housing? - Oil pump housing failure, probable rebuild...
