Hello. I'm searching second best option for headlights. I know retrofit with morimoto projectors ate the best but $$ is the issue at the time. Any decent aftermarket housings available? Looking for good low beam, high beam isn't so important! Already have enough auxillary lights so I can see far! Also has to be with two bulb housing because my trucks headlights have been modified to meet European standards ( Hella projectors in high and low beam ). Light output is is junk!! Low beam has now H7 bulb and high beam is HB3 bulb! Sorry long story but dark times are coming and greetings from Finland!

Has anybody replaced the factory door speakers yet? I assume most have. My two front speakers go in and out of playing music and not. I don’t think it’s a short but rather the speakers are just plain wore out. Any suggestions on brands, or a link to what speakers you purchased. I am going to do both front and rear speakers while I’m at it.

  3. I live in an area (deep south Texas) that's just hot and humid, ac is a must. My ac use to blow 45 degree or colder air no matter the temperature humidity outside, recently the ac performance began to degrade. As the ambient temperature increases so does the temperature of the air coming out of the ac. On a day in the 90's temperature of the air coming out of the center vent (temp readings done with max ac, fan on high, center duct) would run from 55-65 and humid air. The ac system is still all original parts from 2002, other than being recharged 2 years ago at the dodge dealer and few weeks ago. After putting gauges on here is the basic findings (center vent temp …

Is anyone using a Banks exhaust brake and if so what do you think of it? I'm looking for a little help in down hill braking but not something that will overwhelm the transmission. The Banks is less expensive than a PAC or BD E-brake but need to splice in there down pipe. The truck and trailer are under 15,000 pounds.

I have a 2001 ram 5.9 Cummins 24v, in 2016 I had both from calipers replaced along with rotors and pads, I had a fluid flush, I replaced my booster on my own, the drums and shoes were replaced as well. I noticed upon replacing pads due to grinding that on my passenger side the inner pad was worn based while the others were in decent shape. It feels as if the truck has a rough time stopping too. Upon replacement of the booster, the abs and brake light kept coming on for a week even though everything was working as it should. Eventually those lights went away. When I replaced pads the brakes were pumped hard then started and pumped again to ensure i had contact before…

I'm bound and determined to go LED. I can get the LED bulbs but many people highly recommended projector headlight housings. This is where I'm falling short. I don't know much about them and whether or not I can get a housing that will allow me to accommodate for them. My truck currently uses a 9004 bulb so that would be the plug I would want to shoot for. I guess it really would not matter? Looks like the harness for the bulbs don't have much of any kind of specific plug for them. I think the bigger issue is the bulb style mounting in the housing. Another thing that gets me is that it appears the projector housings use a separate bulb for low and high. I can …

On the 4th of July I by a deer going 60 mph towing my travel trailer. Lots of momentum and didn't feel it that much. Pushed the right side of the bumper in and tore up the rubber. It did out a slice in the right radiator support. I am attempting to upgrade the bumper to a Buck Stop bumper. Been on my list of mods, so I figure I might as well take the money to restore to OEM and pay a little extra to get a welded steel bumper with brush guards. The deer didn't fair well. Toast.

Currently I have a 2" leveling kit installed that consists of 2" steel coil spring spacers and add-a-leafs in the rear. I'm not happy with my ride quality and will be changing some things up to make it right. First up is building a pair of shackle reversal brackets and shackles. This will accomplish two things: 1 - Converting from the stock tension shackle to a compression shackle improves ride quality without sacrificing load capacity. 2 - The added lift will allow the removal of the factory lift blocks and add-a-leafs, resulting in less axle wrap and a smoother ride. A couple of things to take in to account is that as you drop the rear spring mounti…

  11. Hi guys, I've got to get a fuel pressure gauge coming and put into this truck of mine. I'm not one to be constantly changing things for the fun of it. I need to build my truck up as it is my work truck and as such is my breadwinner and dependability is #1 for me. I'm going to have to add things in stages, as I'm sure the whole “things are tight” story is rather familiar. So I'm trying to think ahead and not waste effort. Let me explain what I *think* I've figure out and the route I think I'll take to get there and PLEASE give me all the feed back you want. I've been reading so many threads, the head is swimming. I plan on a conservative approach. I thi…

  12. Ok guys I need some input. I just got my abs module back from Module Masters and put it in the truck and what do you know, no abs light, motor isn't continuously running, Yes! So stinking happy. Drive about two miles, getting off the freeway and look down and see the abs and brake light on. Crap. So I get out of the truck, open the hood... The motor is running. So module Masters says they will take of it, they didn't hassle me whatsoever, which is nice. But my question, could something be going through my electrical system and causing that relay or whatever it is to fail? I'm guna order a fluke ( either 114 or 115, not sure what would be better) and test the alternator fo…

  14. Is there a simple way to reduce the two inch lift in the front of my truck to one inch lift? Or should I do it again with one inch spacers? Thanks for any thoughts. I have the adjustable trac bar and saved the factory end links so it's easy that way anyhow.

Geez... When it rains it pours. I just lost my pyrometer this morning it quit working. So I did my phone shopping at work today since it was slow. Called around and once again my buddy Eric at Vulcan Performance did the best price. I'm just beside myself of taking either ISSPro EV's or ISSPro EV2's. The EV's are all mechanical gauges. Now Eric tells me the EV2's are electronic and using now solid state pressure sensors that are rare to fail. I'm considering on jumping out on a limb and trying the EV2's. What do you all think? http://www.isspro.com/page.php?page=Performance_Diesel_By_Product_Series#tabs-1 Once again thanks to http://www.vulcanperformance.com

Here it comes the full write up on my 99 Dodge Ram restoration it has been in the process of being rebuilt over the last couple years, it's hit a few speed bumps, moving, shattered ankle and months of recovery. Now we are making real progress unfortunately my laptop died on me so I have lost all the photos of the truck during tear-down and most of the before pictures. What I have today are pictures of the chassis all scuffed up and receiving the first coats of new primer I also have a small preview of the color not ever found on a Ram but on a 2012 and newer toyota. I plan to follow this project with photos and updates as they come along,I plan to share the interio…

I've had a Gen 3 track bar and conversion bracket on the shelf now for over 10 years, originally bought for my 3500 but never got around to it I've been getting more and more ~~~~ed off with steering wander on my 2500 recently so decided to bite the bullet today and fit the 3rd gen bar and bracket as there is a tad of wear in the ball joint end as per usual. Axle end bolt seized solid in the steel sleeve in the bush then stripped the welded nut in the steel plate keeper GGGRRR, ended up drilling the bolt out, luckily I got it just right and didn't even damage the bush sleeve or the bolt holes in the axle bracket. All off and on the floor ready for tomorrow …

I have race truck mirrors on my truck. Have lived with them for about 15years. I now have welder in the back window so only have mirrors. The race truck mirrors look good but I cant see **** so many blind spots and no view when turning my head to see ttaffic. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F232151453539 These caught my eye. I dont care that they have led. Dont even really care if there manual or powerd adjust. I think they look good and should improve rear and side view. Driving our dump truck is a better experience because I can see so much better. What mirrors is everyone ru…

I want to install a new draw straw and 1/2" fuel line from the tank. I'm torn between dropping the tank and lifting the bed. Understand that I work in gravel and don't have a lot of jacks/tools. I even saw a YouTube video where a guy cut a hole in his bed to gain access. That's even a consideration. Problem is that the tank unit sits right under a support bar of the bed. But a couple holes on each side of the cross member might be adequate. Having perminant access to the tank unit would be cool. But not sure I have the guts to go that way. So looking for opinions about bed tilting or tank dropping. I can invision a pully system to lower and raise the tank.
