  1. The only reason I didn't do the valve... Is because of all the logs, branches, and debris I drive over it would really suck to have a stick or limb swing the valve open on you..
  2. Funny you should mention this I had a long conversation with Pepsi (from over at CF.com) on the phone about this very same problem. He discharge a little bit of freon at a time from the high side while the A/C was running. During this time he kept a IR laser thermometer on the drier and low side pipe watching the temps. During this short little burst of discharge he said that there was huge amount of oil coming out of the high side coating his hand as you see the freon kind of bubble out of it turning to gasous state. Once it got down near 40* he stopped. Now the net result is that he said the grunting noise is nerarly gone when you turn on the A/C for the first time. But the dash temps were about 45*F ... I would personally think of evac the system and then start over from bottom up like Flman suggest then you know exactly how much of each you got oil and freon...
  3. I think way too much water, mud, and heavy foot... My Buddies 92 Dodge is a nasty smoking SOB at lower RPM's crawling along... It called turn down the smoke screw and tighten the AFC spring...
  4. Maybe that why I've not replaced my brake pads yet... 170,000 miles on the factory pads and still going...
  5. As for the heat... At this point in time its hidden in the truck quite well... Out of site out of mind... As for the Salmon it's gutted, cut into steaks, and frozen...
  6. I'm also packing heat too... But not really need here in Idaho for people its the darn Wolves...
  7. Boost fooler is anything the connects between the MAP sensor and the ECM lead. Could be a simple adapter (voltage regulator) or it could be a split loom that goes to a Edge comp or simular.
  8. I consider it thinking outside the box!
  9. Maybe I should check my Mitchell book for shop time rates for ya...
  10. I've also got a few videos where the camera should of just quit from the cussin'... So I don't feel bad... Take notice most of my video are quiet...

  13. Hmmm... Your the one I was talking to on the phone... Ok... There is a more here that he's not telling the fuel pump relay (that controls the VP44 power) is get warm to the touch which is unusual... Another one found a hiarline crack in a fuse...
  14. Well I think you had enough punishment now.. I think next time you do the short cut...
  15. So just a blank hard drive with XP and it lagging yet? Something is for sure wrong... Do you have another hard drive to test with too?

  18. Talk to JL Welding here he'll make you a set of wrenches and mail them to you...
  19. That's what I thought... * Boost* EGT* Oil Pressure But for 1 gauge at that price naw... I still rather have separate gauges... The digital part is probaly really slow updating like Edge with Juice or my ScanGauge II... Analog Mechanical Gauges are the best bar none...
  20. This is some of the grey area I'm still trying to find info on yet... But I can give yo this much... http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=795 Here is the relationship to MAP sensor / boost pressure and RPM's... I know the IAT sensor tends to effect the timing too because on cold days because it knocks hard when the air temp is low and coolant is low. But once the IAT starts to rise a bit then it seetles a bit but still knocks hard... Now shut the Edge Comp off and the knock is gone...
  21. Yeah... I'm messing around with a old mod from vB3.84 that finally made it back to vB4... It still in Beta testing phases yet but I figure I would try...
  22. OMG! That just plain crazy... I know it can be done but let go of the throttle and... glub... glub... glub...
  23. My day in a nutshell...
  24. PCM is on the firewall passenger side... ECM is on the driver side of the block... #20
  25. Well... Tales from my day... I went into town to get fuel for the Cummins and on my way back home I desided to stop at the local rest area for a pits stop. Well I got out of the truck and notice a older indian gentleman sitting at a table making fishing nets and said "Hello". Then went on about my business... Then walked back out and he asked " Are you local?" I replied "Yeah..." in a kind of confused tohught... He ask what I did for work... I told him that I'm a diesel tech and computer tech... His eyes got bright! He's replies "I got a job for you..." The job... 1996 Chevy S10 pickup - Overheating and coolant leak. I ran home got my tools and headed back... Before I left thoe house I called the local Chevron station to see if they had a t-stat... They had 1 in stock! Well talk to the gent about the issue and the t-stat and I could get one... Well now back to Riggins, ID to get a t-stat... Now I return and pop the old on out without much problems. The old t-stat was rusty and gummy like the valve would hang up as you pressed against it. Then as I was digging around the engine I found the heater hose right at the block had got small pin holes in it and bleed just a bit of coolant to make it smell bad but dry up with the engine heat... (Good find there! ) Just as I finished the gent's nephew shows up in a F-150 Ford pickup. He start explaining about me fixing his truck. Well now the Nephew ask me about a lack of power on the initial take off... I told him it sounds like a vacuum leak. Well I popped the hood and pull the air filter housing right off the bat I found 2 vacuum lines that broke from some where... Then found another rubber hose that split open... So using fishing lead we plugged the broken lines for now. So he fires it up and you can here a good hissing leak yet... I asked the nephew if he had starting fluid or carb cleaner... Lucky! He had some behind the seat. I sprayed the manifold and guess what... It Revved up... Blown intake gasket... Since I don't have the means at that time to pull it apart I knew it would still take him anywhere its just got to be nice to it... So I got paid some cash and a big ol' Salmon fresh today!
