  1. Im interested in measuring the level of AC ripple coming from a brand new Nations alternator. If you can do that for us HOUTX02,that would be very much appreciated. And then measure the level after the W-T mods. It may be more important you do the mods if higher output alternator brings with it a higher amount of AC ripple .
  2. Yeah dave110 and IBMobile, Sillycone is what they use to make Flubber and your ranger might float over restricted area and get shot down by F-18.
  3. Did you make up the wire harness yourself or did it come from Fass with the lift pump? I suspect there is ground and positive wired wrong to the relay but don't quote me on that. The articles section on lift pumps has a diagram drawn by IBMobile that shows the relay numbers for each connection/ terminal and what they go to. I would start there.
  4. see if the glass shop have a left over amount in a tube of their black stuff. It's real good stuff. They usually give me a small amount left over in a tube. Last time they gave me a whole tube when I asked. Don't use sillycone Dave it's acidic and can rust some more. Use a polyurethane.
  5. He will have you build the new garage and stay for the painting and parking pad while he sits in easy chair the whole time.
  6. Dave, usually the caulk goes between the truck body and the glass. It glues in the glass to hold, but the rubber trim piece that you see is inserted over the glass before it is glued. It has a rubber channel molded in the back of the trim that goes around the windshield and fits over the edge. Pretty tough to do a decent job without replacing the windshield as you probably will see the caulking outside the rubber trim. Best to replace the windshield. get it done right. Some places have lifetime warranty and can tell if it was their glass or shop that did the work. Be cool if someone owned up to it and decided to replace it for you.
  7. I see it now. Be cool if prices would go down and help everyone. Around here they tried jumping 15 cents a gallon, but a week later it was back to the normal 3.29 a gallon. We have no sales tax which is good.
  8. That must be MoparMan waiting for parts to come in.
  9. Dripley, Is that a chicken crossing and they have the right of way?
  10. Remember I was there to visit MoparMan, but soon as your mom started in the conversation.... man it was cool she knew how to get all 5 attention motors going full throttle. It was a famous time I'll never forget, she is so real, no not fishing reel IBMobile, please listen to what I'm saying....... she kept the coffee hotter than anyone I ever knew.
  11. Wondering if putting down a square of that non skid pad they use under throw rugs would help. That stuff doesn't slide.
  12. Oh God help her.... She is one of the most wonderful people to be with so cool and couldn't help but love her the first time I met her. . Please tell her I send love. Janel and I are praying for her.
  13. We will have to show you about proper fuel pressure and flow when the pedal is to the metal and still stay above 14 psi. You do not want to run a new rebuilt VP without setting up your truck correctly as we all have and gotten good results. I run 2 stroke all the time because I never know when what's at the pump isn't biofuel and these VPs were designed for higher lubricity fuels available prior to the ULSD.
  14. Hunt and peck club..... Try to keep to a minimum correcting spelling to help other readers.
  15. I drove long distances with that code doing two trips a year for about two years. I used 2 stroke oil in the fuel to help keep the timing piston lubed. I guess it helped, but also carried with me all the tools and a new/ rebuilt injection pump with me. Low fuel pressures will cause that. You have to stay above 14 all the time. helps to run 2 stroke.
  16. You might be right they do sell a lot of the cosmetic parts for our trucks. I hope you don't mind..... I corrected a few misspelled items in your post....I know you probably type in lightening speed .
  17. Glad you jumped in the fun.... way too short of that now a days I hope he posts up his fuel pressure.
  18. Rock Auto has gotten some bad reports about customer service, haven't looked into it, but LMC trucks is very nice family owned Biz that lets you know they care. I would try LMC trucks. JMHO.
  19. Biked out to a mountain gravel wash for a little prospecting with my metal detector tied to the bars.
  20. The underbelly is important that it be durable won't tear or break down with time and that the holding tanks and plumbing is all inside insulated and covered. I spotted one fifth wheel that had its underbelly made using lock seam roof metal. You could feel heavy thick insulating above when you pushed on it. I was very impressed. It was a fifth wheel which I like cause the master suite is up high by itself.
  21. Why does Diesel future get all the fun? he leaves nothin' for anyone else to add to the thread. Except what is your fuel pressure when this happens?
  22. Soon as his head pops up I'll get 'em
  23. Yes it somewhat common to have a bad connection behind the instrument cluster. It is a main connector may not not be clicked in tight, And another one mentioned with this problem is under the dash near/ behind the radio too if I remember correctly. Check all connectors in the wire harness under the hood too. Some guys reported just having to disconnect and then reconnect (click back in place) and solved their problem. I think you also got worn starter contacts or brushes.
  24. you saw it, I hammer it and PilotHouse2500 welds it
  25. Thanks Driley that is what I suggested too in a PM. I think he's got a possible worn starter and a problem with a wire harness connector either under the dash and/ or behind the instrument cluster.
