Well I ran out of beer cans to keep up with this rust bucket so I believe it's time to address it before the whole thing rots away. Got some slip on rockers and cab corners on the way from eBay $210 shipped for both sides. I wanted to get all 3 back, inner, outer but for that kinda money I can almost buy a rust free cab and maybe I still will one day, buy a whole truck to rob parts off like @That Guy just did. Another option I had was to have a local metal shop bend me some rockers out of ss but when I shoed him what I was doing he said he tried it before for others with bad results and lots of wasted time, so my dreams and hopes went down poop tube when he told me that. …

I think I've got some electrical issues. My main problem is the apps. It probably needs to be replaced..but I'm trying to properly diagnose it, or if it's something bigger. Back story. The truck at all speeds has what I think is "dead pedal". 47re. When I'm taking off, the truck seems to go, then cut, then go..like it's not certain where the pedal is, even though I haven't moved my foot. The biggest problem for me is highway driving. I can't maintain speed with cruise control. If I reset the apps by unplug, key on reset, it'll work for a while, then fall off. If I set cruise control, at say, 65mph..rather than keeping a steady engine load of say,…

My O'reilly group 34 batteries have done me well. Even though they're 1000 CA and 800 CCA, they're date stamped '09 which means about 7 years old. Old enough that I'm betting I'll be looking for replacements soon.....so why not now instead of in a parking lot or when I need to be to work. And old batteries add more stress to the charging system so as much as I dont care to spend money, it seems like the right move. So as a 21st century consumer does, I shopped around the internet and found NAPA to have a pretty good deal on a group 27 (the OEM size) which have 1000 CA and 810 CCA. They even have a small rebate to boot. I dropped by my local NAPA to pick up a cou…

OK Guy's.."The moment you've all been waiting for" Here is a complete start to finish Details on Converting Standard 2-headlight system to a Sport Quad headlight sys. i did a few months ago Let me tell you it was a P.I.T.A...i had nothing to go on as none of the threads i found on any of the forums involved building your own from scratch "w/Heavy Duty Stuff" ..most of the write ups were people who had bought a pre-wired harness..like the ones for example suvlights.com or others..all reported problems either "fog lights staying on..lights would not turn off, lights would not come on or lights were dim on bright, etc... So not finding any information in relation to a pos…

Got to school yesterday and noticed my passenger side rubber floor mat looked a bit wet, so I lifted it up and loan behold my carpet was soaked. I grabbed some paper towels and soaked it up a bit while I was at school and hurried home and pulled some of the carpet up and stuck a dehumidifier in the passenger seat overnight. Just went out and checked it and it has dried the carpet but that insulation is still a bit wet. Anyone know any cool tricks to drying a carpet in a truck? Tried taking the passenger seat out but found out its spot welded to everything else and didnt feel like taking it all out because of the mess and it was late. Anything helps, thanks! ED…

I need to replace my tow mirrors. Mine are maual, but I would like to have power, heated would just be a bonus. I looked into my door panel today and see 2 vacant plugs at the mirror bolts. Does anyone know if these plugs are for the power heated mirrors? I found a pair of heated power mirrors for $240 but dont want to spend the cash if they want work. I know i need the switches, still working on those. Just wondering if anyone has done this or knows if the harnesses are for the mirrors. I also cannot find any fuses for them inside the truck or under the hood.

Am tired.... and its getting worse and worse of fiddling with the damm plastic lenses on the headlights on my 2002 2500 truck. Clean them off and they look great and I can actually see at night, then another 2-3 months later and the damm plastic gets hazy again and its time to do it over again. Was chatting with a guy on CL and he mentioned upgrading the truck to something like the 2005 style of headlights and be done with these older headlights. Anyone else do anything like this? Thx, FT

So my truck runs empty 99% of the time and I would really like to eliminate the "rake" in its stance. When I got the truck it had spacers in the front springs and 35's which as everyone here knows took its toll on the front end components. So I have read that as long as the front spacers are 2" or less that it doesn't have too drastic of effect on front end geometry so hopefully less wear on the track bar etc. But I am contemplating just a shorter block in the rear and maybe adding bags for when I do have a load. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts and ideas on this. I wouldn't mind the rear end being lower for easier loading, etc.

In the two previous 99 Dodge Cummins 2500 4x4 pickups that I had, once I replaced the heater core, evaporator core, cleaned the hvac box, new 190* thermostat, new blower fan motor, both of those pickups would roast me out of the cab if I ran the heater on high for too long. On this 01 Cummins 4x4, it has a new radiator, new water pump, new heater and evaporator cores, cleaned the hvac box, new heatertreater transposer for the temp blend door, new blower motor rheostat, and new NAPA 190* thermostat. The only thing that I haven't changed is the heater blower motor on this pickup, but I have good airflow and my engine temp is running 190*, but this truck will not…

So @KATOOM wants to know more about my mystery clunk. When unloaded I have a pretty nasty clunk/crash that can be felt in the floor. Steering doesn't seem to be effected though. It is directly related to when you unload the front suspesnion. From the drivers side it feels like it is coming from the passenger side, from the passenger side it doesn't feel as bad. Before we get into what I have replaced we need to look at the history of my truck, the PO must have broke the front axle as i have a 1994 d60 under the front rather than the 2000 that I was supposed to have on the truck, Things I have replace that made no diff…

I went to the saw mill to pick up a load of wood shavings today and the truck rides OK but sometimes I feel like a fishing line bobber floating in rough water going down the road. I can't imagine that the original OEM installed,17 year old shocks when the truck was built at the factory STILL being installed could possibly be the problem???? I was looking at the Bilstein 5100 but Geno's Garage as far I can tell only carries the 5160 which fits my truck according to their selections. What is the deal on shock for these trucks or at least this year and model? Thanks.

I have asked questions on here before, but now as I have some money saved up I am ready to spend a little on my truck and have a question to ask, that will most likely lead to 100 other questions. To start off with, I have a 2001 24 valve that just hit 194000 miles. I bought the truck completely stock performance wise other than an edge comp box, and have done nothing to it since. The only issues with the truck that I know of is the transmission pan seems to have a leak, which I believe I can easily fix by replacing the gasket, and I have a broken sway at bushing, but I have asked about this before and some people on here have said that they completely removed their sway …

With temps above 20*F I have about 15-18 psi. When it gets colder out I have right at 11psi. The other day it to -2*F. The truck started and held at 11psi. About 5 mins later she started dropping psi and soon hit 1psi. The truck started to stall so I turned it off right away. So later that day after the temps got to about 15*F I started the truck and it held 11psi. I took it down the road and about 10 miles later it went up to 17psi and held. When I got home it jumped down to 11psi again. Any ideas? My airdog going bad?

Hello, I have maybe a year on my isspro gauges and my fuel pressure gauge seems to be acting up. Is the sender an often replaced item? I have a needle valve, snubber, fuel hose plumbed to my sender. My hose is 6 ft long to my sender. At idle it is fluctuating from 11 psi and at idle revving to 2k it is at 18 psi. Just trouble shooting on where to start.

So I searched a whole lot, maybe I have just been unlucky, but I have not found a better blower option for 2nd Gen A/C blowers. My brothers 4th Gen pushes much more air. I am not looking for colder air. I just replaced my entire A/C system. I want more air. I dont care that the system was designed for the stock blower. Has anyone put a 4th Gen blower in a 2nd Gen? Or is there a better blower? Maybe wire the stock pig to 24v?

I just bought a 2002 dodge 2500 cummins quad cab. The fuel gauge was not working. It was stuck below E with fuel light on. Took it to local shop and they said need new sender. Looked on here and found the correct part number. Thank you. Shop installed and gauge still not working. Shop tested wires and said they are sending signal all the way to the PCM. After that they don't know. I looked on here how to test cluster with the trip button. The gauge moved as it should. I brought truck home and need to know where to look next. Thank you.
