01 ram 3500 turn lights on engine quits. remove park light fuse, no problem. when turn on park lights trailer relay energises. remove relay truck no start. heater fan not working. hit panic button on fob and horn + heater fan cycle. cleaned all grounds. Pretty sure maybe alarm is causing issues but cannot have engine run and lights on at same time?

I am at a crossroads, just moved to California and it is time to deal with Smog and licensing the '01.... truck has 350k miles on it, trans synchros are tired in 3rd and 4th, door hinges are shot, leaks oil (either tappet cover or the vacuum pump).. bed is in rough shape, little rust in the lower door skins... So thinking, if I was going to make a change, now would be a good time. So if I did make a change my wife would like me to get a non dually (we don't tow anything too large anymore so that is no issue) maybe a short bed would fit in the garage. Maybe a 3rd gen would have 4 real doors... oops did I say 3rd gen???? So dilemna that could use some wisdom..... a…

I was wondering if a board member can buy a raffle ticket? Also my work truck has horrible bad headlights. So bad, I ran over a big chicken in the road Chicken soup. Anyhow is this conversion kit an easy kit or do you have to work at it a bit to make it fit? If I can't do the raffle I will go buy one. Thank you.

Is there a difference between the front doors for a 2dr quad cab vs a 4dr quad? I’m wondering if doors from a 94-98 will fit on a 98.5 truck.

My truck has a rattle near or in the steering column. I thought this will be easy. Removed most of the plastic on that side. Expected to find a wire bundle rattling on the plastic. Had it apart twice. Any ideas. I know this is a stretch.

I made the mistake of trading in my oem starter when it went out. Should have kept it and had it rebuilt. Got a life time autojunk starter. First one lasted 44000 miles, second 33000 and this one is going out at 18000. Are they really that bad or am I just that unlucky? I looked online at a place called larry b and my starter would be over 500 dollars shipped to me. What brand starter are people on here using and are they lasting a long time. The oem starter lasted 111000 miles. Thanks

It it possible to wire in a 9007 pigtail to the oem wiring to obtain brighter light? i believe theyre is somewhere in the range of an added 700 lumens when swapping from 9004 to 9007. Seems it could be a worthwhile upgrade for those of us that cant afford a projector retrofit or fancy leds.

Had a fun drive into work this evening. I have about an hour commute and was almost at work and my pedal went squishy. I pulled over and found that my front drivers side soft brake line had worn through and burst. It looks like it is rubbing on the tire when at full lock turn. I have 3rd gen rims and 265/70/r17 wheels on (and tame tires too, not large knobbies). Does anyone know why this would have been happening? It looks like its happening on the passenger side too, but not as bad. I'm not looking forward to trying to fix this, but I'm also concerned that this would have happened and how to prevent it from happening again. Being new years eve, it was …

Hi All, How Screwed am I? So the P.O. coated the front bumper and rear bumper with bed liner, and oh Yea he coated the grill as well. He thought that it looked great. I bought the truck knowing that they bolt on. That said I came home with Stock Front and Rear Bumpers for $200. I was cleaning the front bumper prior to installation when I noticed that the lower front cut out was full rectangular. My bumper has a round hole for the Fog lights. So Crap now what? Also I have seen ads for year conversion bumper brackets (Gen 3 for Gen 2 trucks?), has anyone put a later bumper on? Yes it is 3D, with texture. The good news is that you don't sl…

Hey guys, On my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Diesel I installed the 2" Thuren coil springs and shocks. My truck now sits "front high." Based on the attached photo would you kindly assist me in determining if the rear block kit is lifted or is it the OEM standard height? I was told that my the rear suspension looks to be stock height as the 2nd gen trucks have factory 4 5/8” blocks. Can someone please confirm? If I want to balance my truck back off, what size blacks should I get?

So this 4wd 98 I just picked up is all over the road. Ive replaced all tie rods, both wheel hub assemblies and shocks and springs, it was all shot, except for the R hub assembly. Springs both had rubber spacers between the coils and shocks had no rebound. I had an alignment set at 0.07 total toe. R side cam bolt has a bent washer so i set those straight up and down. Truck pulls left driving down the road and pulls left when braking. Had small travel trailer in tow yesterday and had to hit the brakes hard in traffic and the truck darted over in the left lane. Track bar is tight but the steering box needs replaced. I did tighten the adjustment on top of the box and it took …

No run/start power. Accessories position works. Timer module(?) under dash ticks about 4 times per second when door is open. No fuses seem blown, though we all know that means nothing. Sitting outside kid's baby sitter's house so any help appreciated! Have not had any prior issue with switch, behaves as brand new. Even the headlights don't work, but batteries are juiced. Under hood light works great, hitting hazards sounds like a cheap fart machine by emergency brake pedal. No brake lights. Changed out 50 amp Battery fuse, no help.

Alright, a lot has happened with the truck since I last commented on here. My truck is a 1998.5 slt Laramie(I have the pull out headlight switch), everything I read online says it comes with foglight wiring. I bought a set of 4 led pods, 2 fog light relays(as my PDC had the slots and 12v power running to them, I used a test light to check for power) I installed the 10amp fuse for the drl lamp spot as it was missing for some reason but was also hot. My trick has a plug in the center underneath the radiator. I went to the salvage yard and found a truck with some foglight wiring but it was 2 prong plug, and I found a truck with a 3 prong plug like mine but just the plug as t…

Hey y'all, wanted a recommendation. The steering on my Dodge just doesn't feel solid. I have very little play in my wheel, steering box feels fine. I haven't jacked it up to check for wheel movement but assume that either the tie rod ends are going out or it's a combo with the drag link. On to my question. With the 99 model, is the "Y" steering Linkage version a good replacement or are there any recommendations on the "T" conversion if it's even needed. Any links to what others have done in the past? Thanks!

So I installed my high idle switch this after noon and I'm have issue with the temp gauge shooting up to +200 in 6cyl settings. I tried shutting the truck down then switching settings. Then starting it back and the issue goes away in the mpg setting and 3cyl settings. I tried the 6cyl setting again and same issue. I uninstalled the unit now it goes into 3cyl high idle with out the unit being installed. I have it set to the off position now and it idles normal now. Any ideas on trouble shooting the issue. I followed all the install instructions and check the wiring for any pinched wires or connecters not being plugged in all the way and everything checked out.

I have a 2001 ram 5.9 Cummins 24v, in 2016 I had both from calipers replaced along with rotors and pads, I had a fluid flush, I replaced my booster on my own, the drums and shoes were replaced as well. I noticed upon replacing pads due to grinding that on my passenger side the inner pad was worn based while the others were in decent shape. It feels as if the truck has a rough time stopping too. Upon replacement of the booster, the abs and brake light kept coming on for a week even though everything was working as it should. Eventually those lights went away. When I replaced pads the brakes were pumped hard then started and pumped again to ensure i had contact before…
