  1. I guess that's why I ether want to send it to ecm place or get a smarty and do it my self, but I have no idea what I'm doing with it. But sounds like it's very easy with smarty to reprogram ecm out of different truck to work on mine just need to know what I'm doing. I can always sell smarty later, I guess another option is to rent one, but once again I want to make sure I can do all this before I rent or buy one.
  2. How much does dealer charge to flash and can they flush 01 ecm to work on 02, and does ecm have to be on the truck for them to do it or can just bring ecm in. Never dealt with this before but I do want to have a good working ecm for a spear, especially now that I have one. And I also wanted to to double check mine to make sure it's functioning properly. I think I'll just call ecm place and pick their brain, see what they say.
  3. I thought all 01 02 were electronic not vacuum
  4. I have a spare ECM from 01 my truck is 02, but all options are the same. It supposedly came out of a running truck. I'm going to give them a call and see if they can flash it to work on 02 and also enable 3/6cyl high idle. And make sure everything else is in good shape. But even for 300 bucks I think I'm better off buying the smarty and doing it my self. I just don't know if that's all I need is a smarty. Also need to change my tire size but not sure if it's in ECM or PCM. Sorry don't mean to take over your thread. Can you guys point me in the right direction please @Mopar1973Man @Me78569
  5. I have not, but it did happen on my airdog. I had a long conversation with airdog dog people if there was a better way two separate fuel from motor aside from the tiny little seal, they basically said obviously not and fass was similar design. But I haven't had fast apart to find out and hopefully won't for a while.
  6. Maybe it'll make another 200,000 never know. I caught mine just in time, it was leaking from the base weep hole. That's where it should seep fuel out of when that seal goes out before it gets into the motor. Yours must have been plugged. I ended up rebuilding my pump with new O-rings and the seal, but in the meantime I bought a fass so air dog is just sitting on the shelf for now as a spare. Nice of them to give you a free motor.
  7. I believe because with time corrosion we'll take the best of it, and going straight to battery will minimize loss of ground. That's why I put extra ground straps throughout my truck, to bond everything together. Although it was advised against many times now seems to be a common practice. Bonding.
  8. What is said above definitely worth looking into. But I always think this way, if it was fine before you parked at and now you have problems, then something has to happen in between. In my mind even if your lift pump was dead it should still start, VP has its own internal lift pump that will supply just enough to keep it idling without hurting anything. But it's definitely not enough to drive the truck. Whatever you do do not turn on lift pump prior to cranking and trying to start the truck, that will actually prevent it from starting as VP does not like pressure on startups. If I had to guess your problem is losing prime. Because when you use either it starts. You got a tiny hole somewhere whether it's in line or return line. Some people park on the hill nose down to keep fuel in lines so it does not siphon back out to tank. You can try that and see if it helps. Another thing you should definitely do is get a fuel gauge, you want minimum 14 PSI driving down the road. Either way let us know what the end result was, good luck.
  9. Can't believe everything that everyone is saying. Glad you got it fixed.
  10. I did this mod a while back, but just got to testing it again yesterday. Results are truly amazing. I went from. 037 to.018 pretty much got cut in a half. Now I'm going to look for free time to do what @IBMobile did with ground splices closer to ECM.
  11. Ever since I got my 62/67/12 my egts went up to close to your numbers not quite, but the power increase in got... not way I'm going back ha ha
  12. Funny you mention this, I've done that a few times myself especially when I deal with someone new. I'll put a small scratch in a known place or even few in random places and wright date a time on piece of paper set it next to scratch and take a picture.
  13. I would have to say if miss went away after changing injectors it's still injector related
  14. I was thinking about grilling a port in the intake elbow, and put in filter minder in there. That way you don't have to drill through a new filter every time and taking chances on small debris getting trapped inside the filter after drilling.
  15. I have plow springs under my truck with a hand-made bumper about 200 pounds worth, it's a bit rougher than before but not much I'm used to it now. Maybe without the extra waight it would have been worse. I did like it with the few times I used a winch on the front, truck squats a little and then it's like a rock.
  16. On topic but a different vehicle. I just replaced the power steering pump on a 96 K 2500 Suburban about a week ago. How it all started, had a leaky pressure line. So I put a new line, on filled the reserve with oil, fired up the truck, oil level drop maybe an inch, added to the top because I knew it was going to take more, started to turn wheels back and forth, got some more air out. Check fluid it was a normal operating range, so I figured I'll crank it back and forth few times just to be sure, went one way fine, went the other and pump made a lot of noise and quit pumping. I figured it was done for, went and got a new one from orielys, been working fine ever since. Still not quite sure what went wrong, maybe it had a air pocket someplace and got hot, just weird how it work for 10-15 minutes and then it crapped.
  17. I think we could all drive a car, live in apartment, watch useless soap operas talk to neighbors for hours about nothing. It's just a style of life we choose to live and that's why we all have something in common and hang out here. OK got to go
  18. Are you sure all bolts are tight and rubber is compressed
  19. Sounds like I'll be scratching them off my list of vendors for any future needs Any new news?
  20. Done similar things plenty of time myself, nothing is as tough As It Seems. I had same axles under few of my trucks, ended up with overson's axles, lockers, hubs etc.
  21. How many miles do you guys put on these in few years
  22. Sounds to me like you got some employees that like to hot rod, even a factory transmission should last way longer.
  23. Need to ask nasholes how they do it in space, they have an answer to everything
