Hello everyone, If you look at my sig, you will see I don't have a normal Dodge Cummins truck. I have all the looks of an old Ford, the power of a 24v, and the electrical gremlins of a shoehorned harness. My stubborn side has finally given in to ask for diagnosis help because it seems there are many different things that could be causing the issues I'm experiencing. Context: To make a long, complicated story as condensed as I can, I sold my truck because I'm moving to Germany in a few months and it would NOT fit on the roads there. I sold it to a kid on Fort Bragg and I should have known better. Zero mechanical experience but swore up and down h…

Had a nasty belt squeal for a while. Kinda embarrassing to drive since it was louder than the engine itself. I could spray water on it and it would quiet down so I figured it's the belt. Bought the one in the picture from Rock Auto and the squeal is gone! Even the signature Cummins chirp on shutdown has gone away. Time will tell how it holds up. Just wanted to share for those fighting a squeal.

I changed them early at 30k miles. Yea I need to leave them in longer. I'm changing too early at 30k miles. Factory rate 15k miles is like fresh out the box yet. Running good ol' petroleum diesel. Mostly from Maverik Fuel Stations here on the west side.

So, for the last few weeks my truck seems to be louder than normal. Almost sounds like a knocking but only hear it in lower RPM limits (less 1200 rpm). I don't know if its just me or not. I don't have any CEL on or any codes that I can see with my Bluetooth OBD2 scanner. I don't see any smoke and the truck runs good. I did start getting diesel at a different station (Chevron instead of Fred Meyer). Could it be a difference in diesel? Could it be colder weather? It does it with the Quad at 0, 2, 3 or up. It does it with the daily tune and the performance tune. I can really notice it at cruise with light throttle. Any suggestions. This is my first winter with th…

I was replacing my injectors yesterday and when I took the valve cover off one of the bolts ripped the insulation and that crap went everywhere. I know some fell into the engine and I tried to wipe what I could out by number 6. How screwed am I?

So I was driving around testing my new 7x.012 injectors and new quadzilla and my truck died. I tried restarting and it started right back up. Fuel pressure from my Fass seemed a little low (around 12 or or 13 psi) but otherwise everything seemed like it was working ok. I made a stop for about 20 min and when I got going again the truck died again 100 yards down the road and wouldn’t start. I noticed that the pump wasn’t cycling on key on/ starter bump so I had the truck towed back to my shop. When I tested the pump by putting 12v to it, it worked, so I replaced the relay with another but couldn’t get the pump to cycle. I then tested the ecm signal lead and I was only gett…

Evening all, I've been searching and trying things for awhile now, and still no luck. Long story.. I have a 99 24v 5.9l that I have swapped to a brand new rebuilt ppump from Scheid diesel, new Crazy Carls kit, with 0.093 lines and DFI SAC 7x0.010 injectors. air dog 4g 165, new sump. Initially I bought the ppump from a guy that needed to be rebuilt, but i installed the pump and was able to get the truck running. but then the Rack was sticking so i sent it out. Since i got it back I haven't been able to get the truck to run, 3 of the new fuel lines weren't seating properly so they were replaced. I bought a used Airdog 100, but replaced it wit…

So on my 2001 the water meth controler and manual boost gauge match right up. The iQuad shows 1psi when the other 2 are reading 5-6 psi it starts to read closer once I’m above 30 psi. Bad MAPS sensor? What do y’all think

New to the forum so not sure if anyone has asked this question yet, but I just bought the quadzilla adrenaline with iquadbt. It's flashed and installed but I can't for the life of me figure out how to tune it so I have some form of power off the bottom end, I mean I hit the gas at the light and it takes like 10seconds to get rolling...... Any help at all is appreciated, I'd hate to mess up my baby

Ok guys I had to replace my vp44 so I also bought a new airdog 150 lift pump. So my question is. My lift pump wire that comes off the ecm when the key is in the on position it’s only reading 8.9 volts. Will this be enough voltage to trigger my relay for my new lift pump. Or is my ecm bad. Again the key is in the on position not cracking

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm in search of a Wiring Diagram for a 2001 Dodge Cummings Ram. My current issue is that there is no power to both fuel pumps and the relay keeps clicking on and off. I can't find the power source, and I haven't found a bad fuse. Thank you, Tommy

Well I notice after changing my oil 2 weeks go that I had not had to add any which is unusual since I have a leaky rear main seal. Today I check the oil and sure enough now I have more oil. Took the valve cover off and ran engine. Sure enough there is fuel sitting around no 2 and when shut it off and look back there is nothing there. What ever is there has gone back down the between the injector and the bore and I think I see air bubbles around no 3.. So I restarted the engine and sure enough there is air bubbles and fuel around no 3 and 4. The best I can see no 1, 5, and 6 are fine. I stuck a q tip at the bore of all of them and came back with oil on 1,5,6 and fuel aroun…

This is my first post on here guys, I’m in dire need of your help. 8 days ago I had a rebuilt transmission with a shift kit and triple disc converter put in the truck; a mile into the test drive all gauges were lost. Inline Performance figured out that it was a bad PCM and put a new one in it. Today I had to run home for something and left the truck running in the driveway for no more than 10 minutes. When I came back out, no gauges we’re working but the tach, the odometer is reading No Bus and the transmission won’t shift out of 3rd unless manually done. Please give me ideas, I feel my case is different than a lot of other no bus threads on here seeing as I …

Alright so story is, was driving the truck one day stopped and shut it off came back out and turned it on absolutely no throttle sense whatsoever, figured it was a bad ebay tps so through the old one in that just mad the truck idle high, three the new one on worked great until a few days later it did the exact same thing as the other one so I decide to go to thouroughbred diesel to get a reputable apps and put it in and still absolutely no throttle response whatsoever as if the apps was completley disconnected, throws the following engine codes P1693 P0123 P0122 P0121 P0230 any ideas or help would be appreciated. Alright, so she's back at it again. Probably my fault this time. Any who, on the way back from North Dakota a few days ago, I was outside Pueblo when I heard what I can only describe as a bearing seizing. A loud squalling like noise that shook the truck, and I felt it through the shifter. It wasn't constant. Just a quick noise, then gone. After everything that's happened, I was on red alert. Turned off my stereo, and kept driving, listening. Found an off ramp, and pulled off to see if anything had froze, was leaking, etc. Nothing. So I jumped back on i25 and headed south. She did it again. Loud quick noise. At this point I prayed nothing seized up completely before I got …

Pictured is the block numbers I just installed in my truck. I removed the infamous 53 block. After attempting to start with no luck.... I researched and found that the back of the cam gear with the newer block has a tone wheel where the original only had a notch. I'm in the process of swapping the cams out because I'm sure this is the reason for the no start. I would like to identify this block for future reference if anyone can help me out. 1998.5 ram 3500

So my front driveshaft came apart. Anyone have any idea how long they are right off the top of their head? I can order a new one($258) vs having one built ($650). Mine is too damaged to measure properly.
