My truck almost killed me today, Don't look if if you don't like seeing carnage
Yeah I got lucky for the most part, more upset that it ruined the day then anything. Could of been much worse I suppose. Now just need to make sure I keep it clean.

My truck almost killed me today, Don't look if if you don't like seeing carnage
Took the boat out today with kids, got to the ramp backed in set the parking brake started to unload the boat, then all the sudden my truck started rolling into the lake. I ran up jumped inside but my foot got caught between the corner of the door and handrail of the boat dock. I should have known better than trusting the parking brake, usually I put it in the gear and shut it off, the ramp was not very steep and it held fine for good while then all the sudden it just started rolling. I was parked a little close to the dock as I usually unload the boat and tie it off. Everything happens so fast I didn't even realize it till I was walking back to the boat and my shoe was wet. My kids said I had blood on my shoe, look down and there's a nice chunk hanging over. So much for having fun today, loaded the boat back up and headed to emergency room, where I sat for a half hour waiting to get stitched up lol. Good thing I was only a half hour away from the hospital. 10 stitches later now I'm drinking beer. Going to attempt this again tomorrow. Apologized to kids for not making it happen today. Now I need to fix the door as it got jammed between the handrail and stopped the truck from going into the lake. Guess I learned a few things, don't trust my parking brake and don't get in a hurry.

Dap 7x0010 injector problems
I honestly think 320bar with 7x10 vco from dap is where it's at for street friendly injectors and mild turbo. Not sure what is going on with your truck and why they lowered your pop pressure. Possible weak vp I really don't know, I love my set up and it works great, although my truck almost killed me today. I'll start another thread on that.

Can you elaborate a bit please

Dap 7x0010 injector problems
My 7x10 vco are still smokeless at idle, I asked DAP to set them at 320 bar back when I got them. I never tried running them without the quad to see if they smoke under load. I'm guessing with my turbo and 7x10s I'm probably in a good ballpark where they wouldn't smoke much.

Fan clutch locked up
In theory it should be fine, it will put some drag on but nothing cummins can't handle. Not sure what problem it may cause other than it may run cooler

Blown Head
They are cummins, newer generation started using them. I used ford ones, to make them fit over what we have. They were the closest match, but I still had to modify them to get them to work. Hey they're still working, time will tell how long. All I know if I researched that ahead of time, it would have saved me a lot of screwing around. At least they're not blowing off the stems now and getting hammered by the retainers. You must have seen my write-up on that to mention ford seals there was another member here that tried that but apparently you can't fit them inside the original spring, I have aftermarket Manton conical springs and they fit just fine.

Hydroboost leak
oh I'm sorry you have to go through this bs.

Blown Head
Sounds like it's original hg then, and at some point you put in arp studs in one at the time I assume. Could be just the time for it being that old. Mine never leaked coolant, it was pushing oil from a front middle stud, I took the nut off and clean the hole real good with carb cleaner then squeezed bunch of rtv between the stud and the head and torqued it back down, benn good for years then I was playing with quad and it started pushing oil out between the head and the bock. If you take the head off I would personally have your guides checked and then have the valve seal seats machined to accept the newer top hat valve seals. My shop said it would only cost 80 bucks to get it done, just wish I knew about it before I put the head back on.

Preparing for road trip.
There's only so much you can be ready for, I usually do pretrip inspection as good as I can and have basic tools to do basic repairs. A spear serpentine belt without ac in case it locks up, fuel filters, I have on board air and tire plugs. But really if something bigger happened that you can't really plan for you're screwed ether way, cash and guns would be a good thing to have.

Pacbrake Install - ECM Signal
Sorry I know nothing about pacbrake I got a bd that uses trucks vaccum no air compressor needed. I know on bd there's an adjustment screw in a little control box, it sets at what tps input the switch gets activated. Maybe you have something similar to adjust.

Timing
I had some arp lube laying around. Before I filled the gap between the stud and the head when I took the stud off I sprayed some good carb cleaner and blew it out with air.

Timing
@Mopar1973Man I can't remember have you done your re torque on ARP studs. My original head gasket blew in the exact same spot, it was pushing oil right out of the nut on top of the stud. I ended up taking that nut off and put a bunch of rtv in the gap then torque the stud back down, drove like that for about 6-7 years, then finally I was playing with racing tune and when I got home I seen oil coming out from the head gasket on the same stud.

p1690 Can't find what's wrong
Glad you figured that out, hey needle valve before the gauge is a good idea to dampen the pulses from the vp44 so you don't destroy your gauge. And you don't really need a new spring, you can modify your old one to look like this, then get a new check ball from fass it is white plastic. And this is my T with needle valve, then another T to mechanical fuel gauge and then electric one for the quad.
